Just skip this thread if you don't want to read an incredibly political rant....

There's some nasty election campaigning going on in MO at the moment, and it's past ugly by a good margin.

A particularly nasty one was just on TV with the Democratic candidate calling the competition corrupt, a liar, someone who abuses their employees, etc. It was really nasty, and ended up claiming the Republican stole from Missouri citizens, only paid his taxes after he decided to run for office, and couldn't be trusted.

I don't doubt it. Seriously, the possibility that a politician stole from me is pretty great.

But, you pond scum sucking Democrats, you've stolen from my kids, you bastards, and I'll vote for a child molester before I'll vote for you or your party. They just screwed a couple kids, after all. Not every kid in the nation.

Biased? You betcha. Reasonable? Nope. Not even going to make the effort. I've always tended to vote Democratic on the local level and for Congress I would start splitting the vote between parties. I research the candidates as best I can and learn how they voted on the issues... and probably will again after 2012, but 'till then I'll not vote Democrat even if that party fields the only candidate on the ballot.

I'm Taskiss, and I endorse this message.

Was that a campaign ad done by the candidate themselves, or a lobby group out of control?

In what way have the Dems stolen from your kids that the Reps have not?

I think Reps and Sens are equally culpable.

By ignoring jobs for the last 2 years and spending tomorrows taxes.

Let's put it in a way Democrats should understand...

Republicans drove the car into the ditch.

Democrats jammed the gas pedal down and are in the process of driving it off a cliff.

I didn't check, at the time. I'll get back with you on that.

TV ads are way less annoying than the **** phone campaigns they have here. At least you can ignore TV ads. These things will call you at 10 PM and when you pick up play a recorded message about how the other candidate kicks puppies. And since it's a recording, you can't tell it to STOP calling you, so you get two or three calls a day, from both sides.

Honestly, you really should blame the average voter for Congress stealing from the next generation. Any real solution involves it getting much worse before it gets better, and we all know that if this were to be actually implemented they'd be out of office for sure, if not impeached or shot.

Well, not blocked, but my phone just automatically forwards them to voicemail without ringing.

If you have an Android phone you can try an app called tcallblocking lite (works fine for me, some people have problems with it, but it's free so trying it hurts nothing).
