Went and saw it opening night in 3D. We had a really good time, except for the fact that I had to pee like a race horse for the last hour.

Really great special effects that I didn't really appreciate until after the movie was done. (i.e. they looked so real I just took it in stride)

Very good job capturing the feel of the original and updating it to be current and taking it to the next step.

And for Mookhow's question:

Spoiler:
I personally think he died, but redemed himself at the end which is why his color changed. However, between that and the fact that Sam has his dad's disk makes another movie potentially possible if Disney feels they need money and this one does well in the theatres.

Saw this Friday. Really enjoyed it. The special effects were pretty amazing! I thought Jeff Bridges really stole the show -

"You're totally messing with my Zen here, man!"
"Wireless interface with digital devices? I thought of that in '85!"

Totally loved the movie, with one rather large exception -

Spoiler:
The digital version of Jeff Bridges. He just looked...off...to me. Every time he was on the screen, I couldn't concentrate on what was going on in the scene, because I was trying to figure out why he looked so wrong. I don't know if the 'skin' was too plastic, or if it was the way his lips didn't quite seem right, but it really, really bothered me. Like bordering on the verge of creepy bothered me. It would have been ok if they only used his digital likeness for CLU, since he's a digital avatar anyway. But when they used the digital version at the beginning when he was talking to Sam, it was really jarring, to me.

It's not really enough for me to dislike the movie, but it still really bothered me. Overall, though, I thought the movie was excellent.

Spoiler:
To me, that wouldn't bother me much. Digital Bridges is supposed to look like a Digital Bridges. In fact that's what he's representing.

Spoiler:
Except at the beginning when he's a real person, talking to his son. He's not "in the grid" yet. Also, there's a part when the real Flynn is talking to the digital version CLU. So it's supposed to be the real person, and it's just wierd. Like I said, not enough to keep me from seeing it again, or enjoying it, but enough to bother me.

Saw it in the spectacular huge XD 3D screen at our local theater. Really enjoyed it, much more than I believe I would have at home. This film is definitely about the circus experience.

I also tried to talk myself into "digital bridges" in relation to the story, but we all know the truth (he's 20 years older now, they had to de-age him, that's it). While I thought the digital version looked great, I believe it was his expressions that made your brain whack out a bit. Will be interested to see when they finally do manage to fool your brain with a digital avatar (shouldn't be much farther off).

Other than that, really just astounding effects. I so want a zen robe that lights up on the inside now.

Went and saw it last Sunday in IMAX 3D.
Pushed about the same buttons for me that the Transformers movies did. Neat special effects, but the plot was nothing to write home about.
Didn't feel my money was wasted, but I really don't feel like I'm going to need to watch it again.

Great movie! Loved it, just wish I could have seen the original Tron before seeing it.
