In Massachusetts, they are properly called rotaries. If I was talking about any other state then yes it would be incorrect.

Midgen, you are supposed to move to the inside for travel, and always yield to the car on the lft when using a rotary.

I apparently misunderstood you.

Roundabouts here in Canada.

Also, who is going to link the clip from European Vacation? My internet is to slow to track it down on YT, but clearly this thread calls for it.

I am also thinking of the chase scene in The Dukes of Hazard... where he is going around the roundabout.

That was pretty epic. My brother forgave basically everything else in that movie for that scene alone.

There is a big sign by the rotary that says "ROTARY". So I am correct in calling it this.

There's one a few miles from my house that very nicely addressed lengthy backups at an intersection. On the other hand, success there inspired municipal planners to put them in other inexplicable places. An entry from a road to a parking lot? Really?

Google Maps linky (there's no bbcode for embedding iframes is there?)

See this pic link from wiki for pictoral evidence. I can't directly link the pic from Wiki.

Lex. Is. Right.

Bleh, I feel so dirty.

Yes, the sign looks just like that one. Same font and everything. It's a different rotary though.

Unfortunately, I have to back Lex up also, not because I was from Massachusetts too, but it's in the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles Exam (see PDF, page 18) http://www.mass.gov/rmv/dmanual/chapter4.pdf.

Right click the image --most browsers will actually have an option to copy the image location to the clipboard, otherwise you can select the properties
