Got the idea for this poll from the "Awesome movies you haven't seen yet" thread.

This is the top 10 from AFI's list of top 100.

Can't do a none of the above option unfortunately. Can only have 10 poll options.

Huh 8 of 10... though I may have seen Singin' in the Rain and/or Gone with the Wind when I was young and just don't remember.

Only missing Raging Bull. I'll have to get around to that one soon.

As I indicated in the other thread, I seem to have seen a lot of movies over the years (just not many recently). I was 10 for 10 for this top ten list.

Citizen Kane, The Godfather and Oz, ony unfortunately. The AFI list is why I made the other thread.

Missing Raging Bull and Lawrence of Arabia. Though, my memory's plenty hazy on several of the others.

Missing Gone with the Wind (although I've sat though some of it), Raging Bull and Vertigo (I think...I may have seen it long ago).

Eight out of ten, missing Raging Bull and Schindler's List. Steven Spielberg is anathema to me, so I doubt I'll ever get around to seeing it willingly. But I would like to see Raging Bull.

I think I should add Raging Bull and Citizen Kane to my Netflix queue. I watched Vertigo on Netflix instawatch via my XBox just recently.

I've seen Gone with the Wind, Schindler's List, Vertigo, and The Wizard of Oz (just purchased this last one on Blu-ray, as a matter of fact).

I own, but have not yet seen, Citizen Kane and The Godfather.

Casablanca, Raging Bull, and Lawrence of Arabia are currently sitting on my DVR.

No contact with Singin' in the Rain.

I have seen Godfather and Oz.

No desire to see any of those other movies.

Yes, please tell us. After all, it's Lucas we're supposed to hate now for destroying our childhoods, not Spielburg.

Well, I've watched most of The Godfather and I've seen The Wizard of Oz. So, 2? Maybe 1 depending on how much of a movie I have to watch(I've seen all of it, I'm sure...just not in one sitting)

I got to see Schindler's List for free on the release date (maybe it was even pre-release, can't rightly recall) at a "private" showing at the Naval Academy.

Spoiler:
My impression was that it came across more as a documentary than a "must see movie". In addition I remember it being very graphic and very, very long.

The Godfather, Casablanca, Gone with the Wind, Vertigo and The Wizard of Oz.

Of those, only Godfather, Casablanca and Vertigo I considered worth my time (although Oz is okay for kids.) Gone with the Wind is horrible.

I will never willingly watch Schindler's List, the song "Singing in the Rain" irritates me to no end, and the rest I haven't cared enough to ever see.

Interesting perspectives on Schindler's List. I thought it was a great movie.

It may be a great movie. It is not, however, the type of movie I will watch.

I've actually seen all of those.

Btw, why won't you willingly see Schindler's List Talya? You sound a bit like my mother saying that, not wanting to subject herself to a depressing movie. Actually, I thought Schindler's List was brilliant, one of the several films I've teared up to.

edit: the last two posts were made before I submitted this post

I really didnt enjoy a few scenes in it. the scene with the kids swimming in the sewage to hide from the nazi's was nauseating.

Schindler's List I've only finished it one time, but it's a brilliant film. It's just that the subject matter pisses me the hell off every time I watch it. I just want to jump through the TV and beat some sense in the Nazi scum.

Heh, Indiana Jones and the List of Schindler would be a fun film, though, I think...
