Great photos - I can't quite tell, though, is the latest picture the same place as the ones you posted. Looks like it certainly could be.

I grew up about 60 miles north of Chicago. One of those pictures could easily be the storm of 1967, when 23 inches fell in two days. School was canceled, of course, but I walked over there anyway to take in the scene. It was great.

No, but I will certainly do that if LA ever gets a measurable snowfall that brings the city to its knees.


OK, that's what I was thinking, but some of those cars look really old for '67. Maybe they're Marathon cabs. But, yeah, that was a glorious two days (Jan. 26-27, 1967). This week's snowfall apparently ranks 3rd in Chicago snowfall history.
