Lex, most of the heads of European Monarchies were related at that time, mostly through Victoria. Still, they definitely look like the first cousins, more so than anyone in my family looks like their cousins.

It's all the inbreeding, Micheal. Most first cousins have one common grandparent, for a max of 25% shared DNA. Those two probably shared about 40-50%... ;)

Close, most first cousins have one common set of grandparents, each grandparent hypothetically contributing 25% of the DNA, for a total of half of their DNA coming from the common grandparents. As much as those families mixed it up, first cousins marrying each other etc., yes, there was a lot of shared DNA in those cousins.

First cousins share, on average, 12.5% of autosomal DNA. The percentages vary; you don't necessarily share 50% of your DNA with even a sibling.

Yeah, what Mike said. Bah. And what Vindi said, but I was too lazy to work out the averages.

I would not be surprised at all if it's not. My wife has some knee-high Chucks in psychedelic colors. They're pretty cool.

Me too. Reminds of that old joke, how do you keep a retard busy (with me being the retard).
