Don't how either of you can still be going on about your RD's english. At some point can't someone just agree to disagree?

Some individuals have a tendency to insult the intelligence of others when they think they're wrong. I guess it makes them feel better about themselves. I don't mind someone being wrong, but when they're wrong and being insulting, I have a tendency to be motivated to illustrate their wrongness.

You're right of course, though, and I'm done.

Oh wow it hasn't happened in a few days, color me surprised!

You've actually been predicting this for at least a few years now, but you conveniently forget. I'm just wondering how many years "upcoming" is and if it's something like how the Sun will become a Red Giant eventually.

Yeah its not like unemployment doubled or the economy plunged within that time.

The English language disagrees with you, I don't expect you to care but I do expect you to continue to assert your position as if it were fact.

No, in all seriousness, I suspect you're going to say "nothing" was the key word, on the theory that it precludes any relationship between Set Y and Value P, even an indirect relationship via mutual contribution to Outcome A. Right?
Nope. The word is "an" ...

The "web of factors" is "an ... web of factors" which means it's singular. Outcome A "was dependent on" only Set Y because of the article.

OMFG.

Yes, it depends on AN intricate web of factors.

It also depends on ANOTHER intricate web of factors.
Actually, it doesn't. See, that's where you're wrong. You're making the assumption not supported by sentence, the post, or subsequent posts in the thread. More to the point, since RangerDave limited his set of possible values to one set by using "an" -- that is indeed singular -- you remain wrong.

But, keep asserting you're correct because you know you want to. It's what you've done for 10 years even in absolute evidence of your wrongness.

See, if RangerDave did not want to exclude other sets, he'd have stated ...
Quote:
Your ability to accumulate that wealth also depends on factors that have nothing whatsoever to do with your personal wealth.
Funny how correcting his verb tense and a little bit of editing actually matters. Too bad he didn't write that; too bad you have to keep adding words and clarifications he didn't write either just to assume you were correct.

It's well supported throughout the thread.

Care to answer my questions related to the topic?

Correct, "an" is singular. It is not exclusive. An outcome can be dependent on several distinct objects, each of which is singular. An egg, a teaspoon of oil, a box of cake mix = cake.

Seriously, don't you think it's time to let this go?

Let you being wrong go? No. You're an insulting douche who doesn't know what the hell he's talking about that's spent 10 years insulting people on this forum because of your ego. Your projections are kind of fun ...

In other words, this thread is a monument to you being an stupid prick who's not even smart enough to be a civil engineer.

Go **** yourself.

That's true. It's also dependent on a cup of water. And as my two-year-old says, "A spoon! A spoon! Need a spoon to cook eggs!"

Killuas, are you *sure* that you used the word irony correctly in the context of the sentence you just wrote? Think carefully now....

Dang. I should have put apostrophes around the word 'irony.'

This thread reminds me of the Tech thread where a bunch of people tried to tell Shuyung how the internet worked.

You've got no room to talk. Perhaps other posters react to you three the way they do because of your continued behavior?

When asked to defend your positions, you refuse.

When your positions are demonstrated to be in conflict with your statements, you obfuscate.

When asked to clarify your positions or explain an inconsistency in present statement with posting history, you do nothing.

I'm still waiting for you to explain how it is you can claim to value policy from a cost-benefit analysis perspective when continually trotting out the Democratic Party line.

Seems to me, then, the person with a problem here is you. After all, how long does it take you to stop laughing and start ignoring yourself when you look in the mirror?

While this may be true, people need to take responsibility for their own actions.

I do take responsibility for my actions. Kind of ironic that you keep insisting RangerDave should not ...
