I'm with ya RD, I remember being struck dumbfounded when, back during the tech-bubble collapse one of the traders (who worked on his daddy's hedgefund) was complaining about losing his boat in the Bahamas as if it were his retirement savings and he had been retired for five years. It just didn't compute to me that this 20-something could be that heartsick and worried about something so lacking in real impact at a time like that.

And here it's been almost a month since last time I went to Mass.

My son and I visited my grandmother. She wanted us to go to mass with her, and it seemed like a minor sacrifice to me for the amount of happiness it would give an 86 year old lady. I didn't get hit by lightning or burst into flame or anything... this time.
