Went in expecting it to be crap. Apparently those guys over at BBC Three can write though because I was pleasantly surprised and moderately hooked after the first episode.

Just saw a bus ad for it today! But, no, sorry, don't get SyFy.

I watched it, but the characters in the original BBC version were so much more compelling. I'm going to keep watching to see if it improves, but so far I'm not that impressed.

They have a version that isn't BBC? Hadn't heard of that. But what I've seen of the BBC version I've liked.

I preferred the BBC America version myself.

I've never heard of it...in fact, when I read the title of this thread, for a second, I thought I was in the rant section

Haven't been watching it, but wife has. The episodes I've caught off and on seem decent.

I didn't like the american version as much until I realized the vampire is the same actor who plays the Jedi in Force Unleashed. And that actor is awesome for the pure fact he's a true gamer, and not an actor who "plays some video games every so often... like mario kart." No, his favorite game series is Thief.

Someone that awesome deserves my respect and sheds a different light on that show.

Nice, I hadn't put that together. Doesn't really change my opinion of the show, but good to know where I recognized him from.

I'm waiting for the post-human era.

I watched it and got hooked. Seems odd to get into the characters, but I did. I'm hoping there's a second season, gotta find out what happens to Nora.

I really enjoyed the original. Havent seen the remake. Kind of sad you guys wont watch things unless they have American accents in them ;-p

Its a quieter, cheesier kind of show than HBO's stuff - more like Dr Who than Tru Blood ;-p

You must've missed the sherlock thread, pretty sure it didn't have american accents. Unfortunately british shows just have no advertising here, I didn't hear about being human until the american premiere. Maybe if someone had mentioned it before we'd have known about the BBC version. Someone really dropped the ball on that one!

I love most British shows, but I can't get ahold of them unless they're on Netflix or Hulu.

It's just a\our response to all the Greeks and Romans portrayed as having English accents. :P
Seriously though, Top Gear USA doesn't even begin to hold a candle to Top Gear.

I'm pretty sure Top Gear qualifies as Britain's top export.

OK!! So I started watching season one of the US BH.

Finished it in four days. I am now up to date on the current season. I really, really like this show.

I tried to watch the UK one. It did not stick with me.
