We're leaving tonight for a two week road trip, and I'm trying to come up with a list of songs for a roadtrip mix.

So far:

Ramblin' Man - Allman Brothers
Free Ride - Edgar Winter
I've Been Everywhere - Johnny Cash
On The Road Again - Willie Nelson
Up Around The Bend - CCR
Drive My Car - Beatles
The One After 909 - Beatles
Hit The Road Jack - Ray Charles
Born To Be Wild - Steppenwolf
Get Your Kicks On Route 66 - Nat King Cole
Free Bird - Skynyrd
Runnin Down A Dream - Tom Petty
Take It Easy - Eagles
Mustang Sally - Wilson Pickett
Me And Bobby McGee - Janis Joplin
Riding With The King - BB King / Eric Clapton
Ramble On - Zep
The Way - Fastball
Brooklyn Bound - Black Keys
Have Love Will Travel - Black Keys
My Last Mistake - Dan Auerbach

I welcome additions to the list.

Movin' right along in search of good times and good news,
With good friends you can't lose,
This could become a habit!
Opportunity knocks once let's reach out and grab it (yeah!),
Together we'll nab it,
We'll hitchhike, bus or yellow cab it!
(Cab it?)

Movin' right along.
Footloose and fancy-free.
Getting there is half the fun; come share it with me.
Moving right along (doog-a-doon doog-a-doon).
We'll learn to share the load.
We don't need a map to keep this show on the road.

(Hey, that song is sounding better Fozzie.)

Movin' right along,
We've found a life on the highway.
And your way is my way,
So trust my navigation.

California here we come, the pie-in-the-sky-land.
Palm trees, and warm sand.
Though sadly we just left Rhode Island.
(We did what?!)
(Just forget it.)

Movin' right along (doog-a-doon doog-a-doon).
Hey LA, where've you gone?
Send someone to fetch us, were in Sasketchewan!

Movin' right along (doog-a-doon doog-a-doon).
You take it, you know best.
Hey, I've never seen the sun come up in the West?

Movin' right along.
We're truly birds of a feather,
We're in this together and we know where we're going.
Movie stars with flashy cars and life with the top down.
We're storming the big town,
(Yeah, Storm is right should it be snowing?)
(Uh, no I don't think so...)

Movin' right along,
Do I see signs of men?
Yeah, "welcome" on the same post that says "come back again."
Moving right along, nice town!
Footloose and fancy-free,
You're ready for the big time...
Is it ready for me?

Movin' right along,
Movin' right along,
Movin' right along,
Movin' right along.

Wow. Picked up Social Distortion's latest album yesterday ("Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes"), and it's got a bunch of good rockabilly driving tracks.

Road Zombie
Far Side of Nowhere

And, of course, from one of their earlier albums (I forget which), Highway 101.

Bah. I thought I'd already seen that one mentioned, Midgen. Seconded.

Nat King Cole is not the only one that did this song. Many versions of this song, YT it and pick your favorites.

Biggest Ball of Twine in Minnesota - Weird Al Yankovic

Best song for a road trip ever created. And, it's rooted in reality.

I assume you want driving-related songs? How about these that haven't been mentioned:

Red Barchetta - Rush
Ride the Wild Wind - Queen ("Tie your hair back baby, we're gonna ride tonight".)
