Ah, you may be right, now that you mention it.

The replay update is pretty cool, I want something more besides just Hats like more maps! *agree's* So want meet the medic and Pyro! Been way to long for 2 2 minute video's!

Have you by chance have had 'stuttering issues' in TF2 since the Shogun update??

The game kinda almost like skipping frames (FPS not dropping) and get frozen for a few seconds, last patch made it much shorter, but still damn annoying, really killing my score.

Clean install of win7 ultimate, only thing on SSD last drivers steam and TF2 and still having it. Doesnt matter if on IDE or SSD, much worst on my IDE.

Cool. I need to start playing this again.

And yes. I too am still awaiting the last Meet The videos. The saddest thing? I can actually say this with 100% truth and finality, "Duke Nukem Forever will be released before those videos."

Looks like finally getting Meet the Medic! Hopefully Pyro not far behind Yah! New Payload map, been really burnt out on TF2 lately..Would love to see a very big new map pack

http://www.teamfortress.com/

Follow link, today introduced a few 'mob' weapons for Heavy and the Spy

Quote:
Welcome to Day One of the Über Update--the biggest, most ambitious update in the history of Team Fortress 2.

We've got a lot to announce as we get closer to the update's release this Thursday, June 23rd. We've been holding one of the surprises pretty close to the vest for months now. We don't want to ruin it, but we'll give you four clues to get you guessing:

1.) It IS a "Meet the" short.
2.) It involves ONE of the two remaining classes.
3.) It's NOT the Pyro.
4.) It's the MEDIC.

Let the speculation begin! While you're puzzling that out, why not click over to the first of our class pack announcements: Mobster Monday. To make sure everything was as accurate as possible, we went deep undercover at the most Italian place we could find, The Olive Garden. We asked the Mafia about a million questions, none of which they understood, because our mouths were full of all the free breadsticks the Mafia gives you when you visit them (they're not such bad guys).

All that hanging out with mob guys must have rubbed off on us, because we've decided to celebrate the Über Update by giving you an offer you can't (or at least shouldn't) refuse--an unprecedented WEEK-LONG FREE WEEKEND of Team Fortress 2, starting right now!

Last but not least, today's the day we reveal our all-new website. Want a link to it? Too bad--you're already there!

I didn't want to, but I have lost all interest in this game.

Life just moved on and my time to play the game as I had for so long dwindled.

It was a great run and I will miss it.

I don't play much anymore; the hats don't appeal to me and I never did play enough to get into the crafting, so all the new weapon variants and such are just neat-looking toys I don't get to play with.

That said, we all deserve our Meet the Medic and Meet the Pyro videos.

I can honestly say I haven't played more than once or twice since the glorious 3 Medics vs. 15 Scouts at A Point on Granary incident, Kaffis ...

I started playing this again in the last week or so. friends and I are trying to make it a regular thing on thursdays on a server we set up.

All the new weapons (and now item set bonuses) took some getting used to, but I think overall they make the game more interesting.

I am glad that they are still updating the game, and that they are finally releasing another meet the video. It's only been 4 years since the medic update. That's pretty fast in Blizzard time.

So, Team Fortress is now free to play, with premium accounts for anyone who spent any money on the game in the past.

Meet the medic is up now too.

Meet the Medic Outtakes (and these are real outtakes, a blog post on the discarded and abandoned iterations Meet the Medic took as it was developed, not purpose-built comedy presented as outtakes)...

My friends and I have begun playing this game every thursday on a server we set up and speaking over our own teamspeak-like server (mumble) so we can keep trash talk internal.

Since the skill level of most of my buddies ranges from average to below-average, I tend to stick to classes I am not as confident with. I've gotten both the sniper and pyro to levels that I am very comfortable with so the next class I wanted to focus on is the spy.

He is slowly becoming one of my favorite classes. It will be challenging to master him, but I am having fun trying.

Currently I am really enjoying the knife called "Your Eternal Reward." It is a knife that disables your disguise kit. The only way to disguise yourself is to backstab someone. But the benefit is that you instantly change into the person and the kill is a 100% silent kill. The victim makes no noise. Leaves no body. And the enemy team doesn't even see the killscore show up on their screen.

I was on a ctf map this weekend (turbine I think) and the enemy had three engineers and three sentry guns in the intel room. I had stolen a disguise at the front of their base and walked through the ductwork. Each engineer was banging away at their guns, wary of things but not entirely keeping a close eye on each others' backs. I dropped down into the room and just like in a movie or batman arkham asylum, I took out the first engineer silently. Since the disguise change is instant, the sentry guns don't even make a responding peep. I walked over and took out the second engineer silently. The third one, still oblivious to what was going on, wasn't as easy to get to. So I sapped the first two sentry guns and his distraction was enough to expose his back to me. A moment later he was joining his friends waiting to respawn, and all three guns were taken out.

Oh, and if anyone here wants to join us on thursdays you are more than welcome. We usually start around 7pm Mountain (9pm Eastern).

Numbuk:

Spy stories like that are the reason I learned to love playing him so much. Nothing like that rush when breaking such a defence single handedly and silently.

One of my memorable spy experiences was 4 BSes in a row on a team capping the cart, 1st point on Goldrush. I had infiltrated the front line and as my team was retreating to the second point and they thought they were free and clear, along i come and nail four of them in a row on the cart, immediately cloaked and disappeared back amongst my team.

Soon as I upgrade my Video Card, I will have to look you up one Thursday.

Awesome, Foamy. :D

I love playing the spy. It's just frustrating knowing that I don't play him very well.

Yeah you're more than welcome to join us on thursdays.

There are several ways. First, there are random drops that happen during gameplay. They just magically appear at random in your inventory and the only requirement is that you be logged into the game for some random amount of time. I am *pretty sure* that F2P players get these.

Second, you can craft them. When you have an excess of weapons you don't need, you can break them down into metal and use that to craft a weapon that you want. F2P players have a limited amount of blueprints of weapons they can create... but even limited blueprints means there is something you can make.

Third, and this was the only way to get the new weapons way back when, you get new weapons via class achievement milestones. If you look at the class specific achievements you'll see different types of achievements for you to work on. When you get a certain number of achievements, you will hit a milestone. Each class has three milestones, and a new weapon unlocks at each milestone.
