I just watched the verdicts being read, and there was nothing about theft and check fraud. It was all murder/abuse/manslaughter and lying to police officers. She's guilty of all counts of lying to police officers.

Ahhh, lying to police officers. A crime which didn't exist until we decided we wanted to put Martha Stewart in jail.

Actually, the crime was specifically "lying to police officers about a missing child" so I don't think Martha Stewart was involved.

Also, she's already been in prison for two and a half years. 99 to 100 odds she is freed at sentencing.

I think she's facing a maximum of 4 years, so if not at sentencing, soon after.

This is not true. Crimes like "Obstructing official business" have been around for ages. They're not actually called "lying to police officers" (unless that's the case specifically in her state) because they encompass other things too.

You have the right to remain silent. This does not extend to a right to lie.

And my bad, her sentence was time served.

In any event, she's still a worthless lying sack of ****.

It's time to get down to the heart of the matter.

Comrade Arafys, would you do her in the butt?

Was there any real doubt about that?

I heard this on a radio show recently:

"Casey Anthony, hot or not?"
"She looks like she'd be a character in World of Warcraft."
"Yea, she's very, very much on the homely side to the point where you could definitely see somebody rolling for her dexterity points on mutli-sided dice."

I don't feel this is the same as OJ. I don't feel there was a gross level of stupidity (real or imagined) by the local police that allows you to consider reasonable doubt over the preponderance of fledgling criminal evidence.

There's no gotcha moment in this trial either. No glove that doesn't fit. (I watched that live and I knew it was all over then). It sounds like there is a lot of circumstantial evidence about the death in question. Sure you could convict Antony of being a lousy and maybe even negligent mother, but that's not enough for murder.

The thing that confuses me the most is why the **** was there duct tape on the girl's mouth? There is no reasonable explanation for that at all.

Yeah there isn't and I wanted to throw up when I heard about heart shaped duct tape. However heart shaped duct tape doesn't prove murder, even if you can link it to a roll in the family's possession. (Did we ever do that?) it just proves someone's a lousy human being.

The trial wasn't about whether or not the baby was murdered. It was about whether or not Casey Anthony murdered her, and there was really no substantial proof presented that she did...

I find this kind of offensive.

It wasn't heart shaped duct tape. There was a sticky residue, about the size of a dime, presumably left by a heart shaped sticker, on the duct tape that was covering her mouth.

This is what I mean by media coloring our perceptions. Guess I proved my own point. Still fairly demented.

The fact that there was duct tape is pretty damning, especially since she "accidentally drowned and I panicked and dumped the body in the woods" story she gave. Why was there duct tape at all? **** ***** should fry.

Maybe she just felt like putting duct tape there? Babies can still breathe through their noses. In any case I don't think it's enough to put her in jail on felony charges.

My kids put stickers and tape all over themselves seemingly at random.

I don't understand children.

FTFY

My wife has been watching this thing non stop since it started so I've seen some of it, and one thing I've noticed is that the "reporters" that are always on TV are pretty badly distorting the evidence and appealing to emotion, especially to incite the public.

Well, I was quoting some random article I found on the Internet via google (I think it was people.com), so again, we are dealing with what the media wants us to know...
