Ive been watching this show on the recommendation of a friend, and it's absolutely great. The characters and the dynamics are better than most shows. There's probably a thread on this somewhere, so this could be a repost.

I watched two seasons of that show and just couldn't get the draw. I really truly tried to like it but couldn't.

I actually take back the "absolutely great" and would replace it with pretty good. For example I like shows like Breaking Bad much more.

Yeah I tried to get into Madmen too. I know a lot of people like it, and the I like the concept of a 60's ad-exec. And I am glad that Connor the Vampire Killer got some solid work post-Angel.

I just gave up after about 6 - 8 episodes though. As I posted in another thread, the thing that ultimately turned me off was the realization that I was watching a Soap Opera. It was all dressed up and made to look like something else, but at the end of the day it was a "he slept with her, and she slept with that other guy, and they are cheating on them, and he's not who he really is, and blahbitty bloo..." Soap Opera. I was expecting a long lost twin with an eyepatch to show up at some point (and maybe he does, I stopped watching after all).

Man...that happened on Days of Our Lives back when I was watching it in 1990;
