You said I had to constrain my criticism of BMI to candidates in the allowable range; and, amusingly, less than 10 posts later, you indicated you couldn't find anything about any allowable range.
That's like saying the gravitational acceleration standard of 32.2 ft/sec for the earth is bunk because its different on the top of Everest. You've gotta stay within the range allowable for your standard.
Ok, I looked and didn't find an "allowable range" for BMI. Care to enlighten us? What's the joke? What is it that I don't understand?
Consequently, since you've arbitrarily determined the human beings in good or near peak fitness aren't covered by BMI, you've produced the only known allowable range in the thread. Your allowable range happens to be fundamentally useless, because it's 99.9% of the human population.
This is explained in detail in the other thread. It's not arbitrary at all. To sum up, the argument was that while BMI is a stupid method to use to identify ideal weight, the obese line is high enough that if your obese by BMI, you're a fat-ass. Now, as I said, it's pretty easy to see where this starts falling apart - professional athletes and other folks outside the normal range clearly don't fit. So again, using these folks as a way of discrediting the BMI is all well and good, but again - assuming the BMI is a generic across population metric (which it is meant to be) - I don't think using outliers is the best way to discredit it. Show it doesn't work for the average. Or, say it's fine for the average but don't use it for outliers (like I'm suggesting).

But, you know, keep trying to think you're smarter than the other posters here when you don't know even you're digging yourself a hole.
WTF are you talking about? Why does everything with you come down to who's smarter than who? Who gives a ****? Why are you so hyper-sensitive about being challenged?

So, to answer your question, you simply don't understand basic logic or rational thought chains.

If you can't find an allowable range for BMI, but you arbitrarily exclude a subset of the population because it can't possibly fit, then your standard is indeed a joke. And since no allowable range exists, invoking that term (as you did) is laughable.
No, not at all. It's basic stuff, man. You don't use outliers to discredit generic or broad-use formulas. I doubt seriously that an allowable range has ever been set. It's a generic metric used for the populace at large.

But, you're not even aware of what you posted in this thread ...
So, I guess you're the one who likes to throw out baseless statements and generalizations with nothing useful to add to the thread, since you can't even be bothered to stop trolling long enough not to contradict yourself.
Wow. Hey, Khross, just to clear things up - I don't know you that well, but I believe you're probably a pretty smart guy. Ok? I want you to understand this so that maybe you get a little less upset next time I challenge one of your statements. It seems you take any challenge as an assualt on your intelligence or something. It's all good, man, ok?

In case you're wondering, it's threads like this one that make most of us think you're an illiterate twit.
I love you man. I promise everything will be ok.
