Didn't see a thread.. Anyone going to pick this up? I was always more of a BF fan than CoD fan. (CoD is still good) Played BF2 for a very long time and still play BFBC2. Just enjoyed the scale and teamwork aspects more.

October 25th!

Holding out for Planetside 2.

That said, I hear you on the greater interest in BF3 than in COD:MW3.

I'm mostly looking forward to BF3, but some of the things from the Alpha testing concerns me a wee bit. We're not supposed to say anything, but meh. The "Open Beta" AKA demo starts on Sept 27th for all 3 platforms. It was supposed to be much earlier but Microsoft rejected the beta package, thus pushing back the other 2 platforms as well. ****.

The implementation of a kill cam has seemed to curb some of the obnoxious behavior that people were getting away with before they put it in.

I agree with everything you said. Totally getting it. Even the solo looks great.

I hear you Kaffis - I am really looking forward to PS2 (might even find a server with you all) but in the mean time....

Hop you play on Xbox right?

The clan I'm apart of will be hosting two PC servers. Though our style of servers actually kick & ban for people not playing the objective. We usually get some pretty damn intense games when everyone there is being forced to actually try to win instead of just kill whore. I'll post the server details when they go live.

BF3 would have to be a drastic improvement over BC2 for me to become interested.

I'll hold you to this. My favorite games are the ones where my KDR is .6 but I have still have more points then 3/4s of the team. Objective points FTW.

I'm looking forward to CoD, BF3, and RAGE, in this particular order. :)

Even if BF3 is a better game in whole than CoD, I prefer mindless games nowadays just so I can relax. BF3 will have lots of different dynamics.

Deal. You'll fit in just fine on the DCRU servers. Teamwork & Objective play over all else is what we try to create when we run servers.

Pre-ordered this + COD:MW3 @ Gamestop. If you pre-order all guns are unlocked + you get four maps from BF2. Very excited :)

All guns are unlocked? I don't think that's true. I believe that is the Physical Warfare pack, which gives you instant access to a couple of weapons & a handful of attachments.

Unlocking every weapon + all of its attachments is being said to take 100 hours of game time per kit.

Just telling you what they told me. It wasn't my primary draw to prepay (some extra money this month was). Personally I would prefer to unlock them myself.

I've been smitten, I believe I'll be getting this for PC.

Console for me. Looks like I'll be getting this and MC3.

Yeah, I thought that didn't look right.

I was out of town for the weekend, but came home to news of a 64 player PC only server being set up for Oct 2nd during the beta/demo. The server will be the only way to play Caspian border prior to release, as well as the only way of testing out a 64 man server. Its going to be open to anyone to join with certain groups in the BF community getting reserved slots. This could be old news that I was just late on getting, but thought I'd share.

I'm stoked to kick the tires & try it out. I wasn't a huge fan of how Operation Metro played out during the alpha, so I figure Caspian could be quite a bit better. Plus they claim to have re-worked some key spots on Metro.

I'll be getting BF3 on PC. I'm still playing the crap out of BC2. Although the lag, hit detection, and rubber knife are very, very frustrating. Hoping they fix these things in BF3.

Look me up on BC2 / BF3 sometime, if you play PC. Name's ReconNine, if you wanna add me.

And fix assault rifle range please. Getting sniped across the map by an xmb blows.
