For those of you with 4ses, note that if you want your phone to be secure while locking it with a passcode, you have to turn Siri access while locked OFF in the settings. Apple defaults it to on, which means people can pick up your locked phone and **** with it, sending emails, texts, or making calls.

If Android doesn't pick up their act with their phones in a year I might have to switch to Apple.

The latest Samsung Android phone (or Ice Cream build? Not sure which the feature is associated with) offers facial recognition lock.

ensuring that if you're in a disfiguring car accident, you can't call for help ;-)

The facial recognition unlock feature on the Nexus Prime is considered 'Low Security' and in it's early form. It will need to be refined and will include alternative ways to unlock the phone.

The Nexus Prime is a beast of a phone. The screen size is over 4.5". For non purse carriers, it borders on 'too big'... you won't be putting it in your skinny jeans pocket.

That said, it's a truly amazing piece of hardware. The specs aren't what I expected, but the features are pretty 'wow' inspiring.

I've been using the Nexus S for quite a while. It is by far the best smartphone I've ever had the pleasure of using, by a fair amount. The Nexus One (Original Google Phone) is number two on that list. If the Nexus Prime, and it's followers live up to those standards, it's going to be a really spectacular product line.

Here is a video demo (that actually works) of the facial recognition unlock feature.

You'll notice that when he sets it up he sets up a 'secondary' authentication method, and when he tries it on his friend, it falls back to the pattern slider screen...

All phones can be used for 911 without unlocking them.

it was an attempt at humor. Would it be better if I said "If your jaw was removed in car accident, you couldn't text for help?"

I hear that comedy is tragedy plus distance.
