Wow, between this and in-browser matching on PC, that's pretty fail.

Enh, the gameplay style of COD is way different. COD is more of a run and gun solo fiesta unless you're on hardcore, which I prefer. I don't really enjoy these games anymore. I'm tired of getting my *** kicked by people that play all the time. **** those guys. I want a "we have jobs and play an hour here and there" play list.

The problem with that is the skilled players would still go into those servers just to annihilate everyone. In Warcraft 3, they limited matches to people of your own ability. But some experienced players would get around this by making new accounts, just so they could slaughter noobs. In Starcraft 2 they remedied it by limiting you to one account per game key.

Ugh, *%&^ EA for making level 2 of co-op a helicopter mission. After playing this series for close to a decade now I STILL can't figure out how to fly those GD messes. Hey EA, how about a helicopter SIM so we can practice without killing our teammates!?

It's hard to fly with any competency without a joystick.

A Gamepad works well, too.

Yeah, me too. The unlock system in Battlefield 3 is a little too extreme too. People who play all the time are just straight up given an advantage, when they should be better anyway from all that practice.

It's no different than any MMO that way, except that you don't have forums like the Glade with people going apeshit that the "casual player" got access to something that should be only for those that "put in the effort". Somehow that argument's silliness really comes out when you're talking about a .50 caliber sniper rifle instead of a magical breastplate.

Yeah, but I think it's expected with MMOs. That's just the nature of RPGs. But first person shooters are not RPGs, they should be balanced right out of the box.

So, anybody else on PC? Hokanu and I have matched up. Need more people wanting to play strategically.

Not until it's decoupled from Origin.

If they ever let me buy it on Steam, or play it without Origin, I'll probably be down.

True. However, a lot of MMO players expect it to be perfectly balanced right out of the box, and it's gotten so bad that they've managed to force that "balance" idea on pnp RPGs as well. *Cough*

Do they show you how to operate all the vehicles in campaign mode? I'm not uh... good... at flying yet in multiplayer. This is for the PC btw.

No. In the flying missions, you play the gunner, not the pilot. So you don't learn how to fly. Best way is to get in an empty server and practice.

And Vindicarre needs to read the chat! I kept trying to get you into our squad :)

Kaf - I have Origin on my machine. I think at least. I never interact with it and it doesn't ask me for anything. It isn't the horror that people make it out to be.

I'm at a place in my life where I know I'll never be good at these games in MP again and I don't feel like getting murdered all the time.

Is it just me or are the levels in MP kind of blah this time around? I really enjoyed the expansion levels they released with BC2 (Harvest Day, etc). These ones don't feel very realistically laid out.

Hok: Yeah, admittedly, I have that issue - that's why I need voice comms. Man I wish people would get with the spotting (Q) of enemies.
Kaffis: I guess I don't understand the hate.

Word.

I only just started playing the game but after a few hours of play and a scope or two it's fun.

Just play on hardcore so spotting doesn't matter.

Is there anything sweeter than knifing a sniper? Okay, maybe bringing down that attack helicopter...

Do they have SAMs to shoot at the helicopter or do you just have to shoot at them with guns?

There are stingers and other anti-aircraft missles.
