Not the biggest of deals but still annoying. I had a pair of ray ban sunglasses for about 7 years until they broke. I am a cheap bastard when it comes to things like this (Paid like $40 for those) so kept looking for an inexpensive pair that I liked for a while. When we were down in Asheville at the Biltmore a couple of months ago I found a pair that I loved in the outdoor shop on the estate.

Nothing fancy but they looked good on me and they were under $40. The other day I had taken them off to go into a store and put them in my shirt pocket. When I got home I was trying to hurry to get ready for trick or treat and they must have fallen out of my pocket. When I went to pull my car in the garage (I had parked on the street since I set up some Halloween stuff in the garage) there they were laying in the street as flat as a pancake from being run over by a car.

So now I have to start searching again. :(

My sunglasses are prescription Oakley's. While the frames are easy to replace cheaply on eBay, the removable prescription lenses (from the Oakley factory) are both expensive and a pain in the *** to replace.

Needless to say, I'm extremely careful with them. They mostly stay in the car, since that is where I use them 90% percent of the time.

I had a pair of prescription Serengeti Driver sunglasses that I wore for over 10 years, and absolutely loved. Unfortunately, they were the *only* item stolen when my car was broken into two summers ago in downtown Seattle. I was mad.. and sad.. not so much because the glasses were exepensive to buy, but because that particular style is no longer even made (modern day Serengeti frames are crap compared to those of yesteryear).

I guess I'm saying.. 'I feel your pain'...

I have terrible luck with sunglasses. I have purchased and lost at least 4 pairs of ballistic ones from AAFES.

Wide head means I rarely find a pair that fits. When I do they live in the car for the same reason as Midgen.

Man, I don't pay more than 12 bucks because I smash or lose them pretty much immediately.

Mine are cheap Chinese prescription lenses. I got 3 pairs for $100.

I just buy a couple of polarized sunglasses from those little carts in the mall. They're like 2 for $20, and they tend to last me about a year or so before I lose/break them

Gah, I've lost two pairs of prescription RayBans in the last couple of years. Lost one pair in the house, and we never found it when we moved ... Second pair disappeared in the car. Just don't get it.

Since I don't wear contact lenses, I now just go for the $20 polarized clip-ons. Best ones are at Walmart. Those last about six months before I trash them, if I'm lucky.

So, yeah, more feeling of your pain, here.

Well luckily unlike others they are not prescription. Can't believe I had the other pair so long and these go poof in 2 months lol.

Meh. I've got transition lenses, and, sure, they're nice for walking outdoors from a building to my car or whatnot.

But they're not polarized, and I notice the difference when driving or doing anything on the water almost immediately.

I have a pair of customized Oakley Radars. If I'm outside, and the sun's up, I have sunglasses on.

Since I was about 15. And they've always been Oakley.

For some reason, and I've never figured out why, sunglasses hurt my ears really bad and cause the sides of my head to hurt...big ones, small ones, expensive ones, cheap ones...I just can't wear them at all. It pretty much sucks.

I don't dig on transition lenses. I've seen Phe's lenses change too much indoors, and would be constantly second-guessing as to whether or not the colors I'm seeing when working are accurate.

i guess.. but that depends on how tiny your frame is, and if you don't mind your nipples showing through the gla.. we must start making larger over the top glasses immediately!
