10 Mon, Nov 14 vs Minnesota
11 Sun, Nov 20 vs Tampa Bay
12 Thu, Nov 24 @ Detroit
13 Sun, Dec 4 @ New York Giants
14 Sun, Dec 11 vs Oakland
15 Sun, Dec 18 @ Kansas City
16 Sun, Dec 25 vs Chicago
17 Sun, Jan 1 vs Detroit

As creampuffy as their remaining schedule is... I wouldn't be surprised to see them run the table.

I love it when the "look at how easy their schedule is" people come out to play. Especially when their team got swept by...Ohio.

Was just making an observation. GB has played and beat some quality opponents. However, the rest of their schedule is pretty weaksauce.

And yes, the Seahawks suck. I know this. I don't think I've said otherwise this year.

Guess you weren't in Foxborough; my friends at the game said lots of things were fishy in the fourth quarter officiating.

Eli didn't own the pats, the officials did in both games.

Never put yourself in a position where the refs can take the game away from you.

See, I'm just not seeing it. Three games against teams standing at .750, and only one against a team below .500 isn't what I would call "creampuff, or "weaksauce".

Nah, Bullcrap is any notion that the Giants won that Superbowl without official help, or last night for that matter ...

But, it's ok.

Chicago(.571), Minnesota(.250), Tampa(.500), Oakland(.500) and KC(.500) are all very beatable. I wouldn't call any of those teams *good* by any stretch of the imagination. "Average" at best.

The Seahawks(.250) beat the Giants(.750).

That leaves Detroit(.750). Providing Stafford stays upright... They might make a game of it.

Seriously?

Let's hear your case then.

The only controversial issue from the Superbowl win was the helmet catch. The controversial part being that it was possible that they could have called in the grasp when Eli was scrambling. The head ref even said that it was close but he wanted to see the play develop. I have no idea what could have been called controversial from last nights game and I follow on twitter and other mediums some of the biggest Pat homers around, and none had any complaints about the officiating.

The fact of the matter is, for this season, the Pats have a horrible defense and a one dementional offense involving basically one player in Wes Welker. Ocho sucks...they can't run the ball consistantly...and the only other threats they have are their TE duo who are pretty good.

The helmet catch was clearly a case where the player did not have control of the ball, but that's not even what annoyed me about the Superbowl. Randy Moss was hit before the ball was catchable, twice, on the last series of the Superbowl. In both cases, he was hit before the defender even knew he was the intended receiver. And the flag just didn't get tossed.

Last night? According to friends physically at the game, Sergio Brown tripped on the turf.

No, no it wasn't clearly.

The ball never left his control, never touched the ground, and he maintained control going to the ground. It was clearly a reception.

Not a reception at all. He didn't have control of that ball.

Yeah, he kinda did. See, it never hit the ground.

If he didn't have control, it would have.

Well congrats, you are the only person I've ever known who has stated that the catch wasn't a catch. If you want to hang your hat on that one, no sense even discussing anything else.

Yeah, I don't know what rule book you go by...but the ball never touched the ground...he had it pinned against his helmet and then it transferred to his hands. Not once did it touch the ground.

Learn the rules.

It was obviously a catch. He had the ball in his hands when his back hit the ground. Just because he initially pinned it against his helmet doesn't mean anything. Heck he could lay one his back juggling the ball in the air, as long as he grasps it before the ball hits the ground.

If he had dropped the ball as he hit the ground, I could see making an argument, but he didn't. That was clearly a catch. I don't see how there can be a debate.

Khross:

I am extraordinarily knowledgeable about the rules of NFL football, live in the heart of Patriots country, and even have two local sports writers who work in my office on a part time basis. There is litteraly zero truth to your assertions about the officiating as it pertains to the Patriots/Giants outcome, nor is there any buzz in the local sports media surrounding poor officiating. And this is one of the most aggressive sports media markets in the country. The buzz is about the poor play of Tom Brady.

Also, no to be a dick, but in regards to the David Tyree catch in the Super Bowl, you don't have any understanding of the rules as it pertains to what constitutes a catch. Tyree never left the field of play, and the ball never touched the ground. For the ball to be ruled a completed catch, those are the only two factors that mattered in that particular instance.

I have plenty of understanding of the rules of football and that catch; and the Officials admitted to letting a holding call (against the Giants) slip to see how the play developed per your own post. We can disagree about whether or not he had control of the ball, but like I said ...

That wasn't what annoyed me about that Superbowl. And you know as well as I do what would have happened had they actually called the fourth quarter in that game properly, even if we allow the Helmet Catch.

As for last night, I watched the game. I know where the Patriots played poorly and played well. And I watched bad officiating give the Giants opportunities they never should have had. That last pass interference call was bullshit.
