The 2012 Sox are going to be nearly unrecognizable. Theo, Tito, Drew, Pap, and the entire front office and coaching staff turned over. Papi non-tendered. Trade rumors swirling around Youkilis and Beckett. Lacky and Matsuzaka out for the year...

Jeez...

Moreso than previous years, yeah. The Red Sox have always seemed to have lots of turn over, but this year seems like clean slate.

I think Papi will be back, since his value is highest with the Red Sox. Not many teams in need of a pure DH these days. As for Youk and Beckett, I don't think they will be traded. I imagine they will simply add an arm or two and some bench and call it a day. They might pull a trade to get a starter, and move Bard to the closer roll if they don't get Madson.

The inside dope is as I stated above. Add to that: Bard will be moved into the rotation with Aceves assuming Bard's 8th inning role, and Madsen and K-Rod being considered as potential closers.

I would be absolutely shocked if Ortiz came back at this point. Carlos Beltran has given Ben Charrington wood for years now.
