My guess is, and has been, that the entertainment room is an addition, and the interior window used to be an exterior window.

That's the way it appears in the photo. If true, I was just wondering why he didn't pull the window, with all the work being done? Future plans?

Another thing that looks a little strange to me, is the narrowness of the door with the stairs. This all could be me not seeing it correctly.

On my windows (which aren't as complex) I did a layer of tint film, added blinds. It made a world of difference.

The tint film directions say put the film on the outside of the window, but I found it works better on the inside. On the outside, the film will over time fog/distort/haze, whereas inside it stays clear due to not being weathered.

From other hints in the little architecture we've seen so far, I'm guessing the house at 80 years old or more (I could be wrong) and the codes we are familiar with today were not in effect back then. The rear stairs were often narrower back then as were the people), and the doors were proportionate to the other features. You may have noticed from his pictures in the flora and Fauna thread, that Dash is not particularly wide either (and works hard at keeping it that way) and this would not be a problem for him.

I'm curious as to how much rewiring he's had to do.

Yeah that room used to be an enclosed porch, and prior to that just a covered porch. So the window you see used to look outside technically. The house was built in 1899, and that's an original window so we kept if for the character.

Kinda hard to see in these pictures but the door goes to the living room. You see the stairs directly in front of you but it opens up to the left and right as you step out. I'll have to take some pictures to show that.

Hopefully we will be putting the Flatscreen and couch into the room tomorrow. We'll see how it goes.

Oh the wiring. Well I was able to do some of it while it was just the studs of the wall. Basically running the wire for the speakers, the coax from the FIOS and then HDMI cables where needed. The high hats, outlets, fan and such we had an electrician do.

Another image dump.

Here is everything still in chaos. From the living room looking in:

From inside the room:

And here it is as it stands now. Not quite finished but very close. Inside the room:

Finally some views from the living room so you can kinda see how the house flows:
