They are likely being kicked out tonight at midnight, so it could be interesting to see live. Just a few minutes ago some guy was asking for volunteers who are ok with being arrested.

In some cities they were kicked out, most notably in NYC, but not everywhere.

The police blocked off the road. The city must be spending a fortune on overtime pay.

They should ticket them for jaywalking each time they cross. And for obstructing traffic, etc.

Or they need to refund every fee assessed to every other protest in the past years since its an obviously arbitrary policy.

This is just proving that faux spontaneous protests that have the underlying threat of violence are exempt from society's laws.

I think they're being nice to the protesters for now until their numbers dwindle enough. Even something small like handing out tickets could trigger a full-blown riot, and I guess they don't want to risk it. Or maybe it's because the police were pleased that the majority of tents were voluntarily cleared out of the main encampment, in the hours prior to the deadline.

I hate that reasoning "we must be nice to them or they will riot!"....so when they do, let home owners defend their property to the full extent.

Or maybe the overtime they are getting paid will help out with Christmas just around the corner.

I don't really like some of what the Occupy X guys say, but I don't think bad things should happen to them... People should be angry enough to protest, but they're angry at the wrong people for the wrong reasons. As long as it's a peaceful protest I support their willingness to do so.

Its not that I hope they get run over for protesting.

I hope they get run over for protesting in the middle of the street.
