Sith Warriors get "Pommel Strike." (Not sure what the Jedi Knight equivalent is, but I am sure they have it).

It's a power where you smack an enemy with the butt end of your lightsaber hilt (but only against incapacitated NPCs). But the kicker? It is one of the hardest-hitting powers in my arsenal.

"Nevermind this 3 foot blade of pure plasma (that weighs nothing). See this metal butt here on my 3 lb hilt? This thing REALLY hurts! Don't mess with this!"

Agreed, it's just like stock strike for the Trooper. I'm shooting plasma at you that sorta hurts, but hitting you with the stock of my rifle or the barrel of my cannon, that really really hurts.

The only one that makes sense, to me, is rocket punch for the bounty hunter. I like the animation too: rockets activate as he/she punches the mob so it makes sense, to me, that it does a lot of damage.

That, and the smuggler's "Dirty Kick" which is a nutshot.

Andy yeah, 3 lbs was generous for the hilt. Weighing less just makes the power even more ridiculous.

Smugglers also get Blaster Whip, which is straight damage. Dirty Kick is a stun.

I admit it, I was dirty kicking droids and laughing. Who knew they had sensitive bits?

Force choking droids, and watching them grasp at their necks, is almost just as funny.

If that does damage to your suspension of disbelief, you must take serious punishment from the fact that your light sword doesn't outright kill or seriously wound everything.

Actually, yeah - that was actually one of my first thoughts upon starting to play SWTOR - turning Star Wars into a game, any game, means seriously diminishing the effectiveness of lightsabers.

Been used to lightsabers not working, as evidenced in the movie, for over 20 years. I don't mind them not slicing through everything in their path. But the lightsaber hilt shouldn't be outdamaging the blade.

It's not so much that the hilt does more damage than the blade, it's the fact that you are doing it to an incapacitated target that causes the extra damage. At least, that is how I would justify it.
