You're in a third year undergraduate math course. You can **** read. Quit acting like you can't.

For ****'s sake, you have access to a computer lab and a print budget. It's not like you have to graph this **** by hand.

There isn't a goddamn thing wrong with your English. You can hold a half hour conversation with me.

There is a stapler in the engineering department office. Ask the secretary. She'll let you use it.

Customer service is not alive in well in academia.

Not sure it ever was, but it certainly isn't today.

You've been a manager before right Tas? What would you do if your experienced employees consistently turned in shoddy, hand written, poorly composed, unstapled material when you have provided the means for and direction to do otherwise?

I never asked folks that reported to me to make me happy. If they made the customer happy, they could do whatever they want.

If their way of working didn't make the customer happy, I'd sure expect them to do what I believed would make them happy, or we'd have a meeting of the minds.

A rule I have: never forget who the money comes from.

I would most certainly not come into the rants forum and complain about their poor report writing abilities.... They ONLY time that sort of behavior is acceptable is if they use the word data incorrectly.

That said, professors are not managers. In that case, the student is paying for a service. Still, none of Coro's complaints seem particularly unreasonable, except maybe the graphed by hand portion. If I graph it by hand, and it's neat and correct, STFU. Hell, I still do that now on occasion, depending on the situation.

That was the point I was trying to make. If they can't hack the small stuff they need to change their attitudes now before they enter the workforce. If a boss wants things a certain way, you need to learn your life will be better if you do that.

The issue there is that they aren't graphing stuff at all. Now, I understand perfectly well why they don't want to make hand-drawn graphs of Fourier series expansions. That's why I taught them how to use a computer to do it!
