Bioware said on the forums that the build is older, but it is newer than the E3 demo. But you are likely right about it probably running better now

Demo multiplayer is available to everyone now a day early. It's a shame I have a raid tonight, but it's looking like it might be canceled due to people not showing up. I'll be on the PC version later if anyone wants to play.

Origin ID is raltar if you are going to be playing. My brother and I will be playing as soon as he finishes downloading the demo. Drop me a friend request if you're down.

So, I have finally been able to firmly delve into Mass Effect (#1, not the sequels) and I just want to kick myself for not playing this many years ago. The funny story about this game is that it was one of the first games I bought for my Xbox when we first got it. As this was the time when I was newly a parent, I realized after a few minutes of playing, I wasn't going to be able to really get into this game due to the amount of time I had compared to the sheer size of the game and story to follow. As this was the case, I returned it and likely picked something else.

Fast forward to now, and thanks greatly to the constant lauding of this series from the Glade denizens, I have decided to finally find the time to jump into these games. I couldn't be happier; I am loving everything about this game.

Though I am nowhere near completing even the first game, I am already looking forward to ME2 (also picked up used) and eventually (Likely a year or two down the road) picking up ME3 to bring this around to completion.

Multiplayer is incredibly fun. I unlocked Krogan Soldier on my free starter pack and I've played him ever since. I love running up to things and krogan charging them like Grunt. I can just imagine my character yelling "I AM KROGAN!"

Attention to anyone that doesn't own them ME1/2:

First of all, shame on you.

Second, both games for PC are $5/ea today on Amazon.

But that's still $10 more than I want to spend on Mass Effect :P

That is how I felt too. I felt I was "only about 1/3 through the game!" And then I realized it was almost over.

Just enjoy the journey and you will not be disappointed.

Yeah, I remember that happening with the Mass Effect 2 demo as well...the demo ran like crap but the actual game was fine. At least on the PS3 side.

I'm kinda torn now though...I want ME3 on the PC now that I have a great gaming rig for it...but thanks to a dying PC (and other factors) when ME2 released, the PS3 is where all my saves are.

Plus, you miss out on too much if you play the PS3 version of ME2. So many choices get defaulted, even with the comic.

Screenshots of the multiplayer weapons with stats(which obviously carry over into singleplayer as well, but singleplayer will have a few more like DLC weapons).

Was the trailer they played during Walking Dead tonight. Wow.

EDIT:

Replaced with a higher quality(and official Bioware posted) video.

EDIT2:

Replaced with the full length trailer released earlier today.

There was a leak yesterday for the day 1 DLC(free with CE and DDE versions of the game, $10 for standard editions). The DLC is titled "From Ashes." Information:

Michael Gamble wrote:
As most of you know, yesterday there was a leak that revealed the upcoming DLC “ME3:From Ashes” on the
Xbox LIVE Marketplace. This leak took place before we were prepared to make an announcement about the details of that pack (slated for this Friday).

There has been a lot of discussion about the DLC offering but we wanted to clarify a few things...

- “From Ashes” includes the Prothean squad mate, an adventure on Eden Prime, a new weapon, and an alternate
appearance for every squad mate. Note that these alternate appearances are in addition to the ones already advertised in the CE.

- The Collectors Edition has been advertised from the beginning as containing a bonus character/mission, but we were not at liberty to provide the details. The Prothean is optional content that is certainly designed to appeal to long-time fans, which is why he is part of the CE offering (the version many fans would be likely to purchase). Mass Effect 3 is a complete – and a huge game - right out of the box.

- The content in “From Ashes” was developed by a separate team (after the core game was finished) and not completed until well after the main game went into certification.

- The Collectors Edition has been sold out in most places for some time now, and is becoming very hard to find (many players prefer not to purchase the digital version). As such, we wanted to make this content available so that SE buyers could also incorporate the Prothean into their game.

We’ll be releasing someimages and video about this pack in the coming days.

As always, we are extremely thankful for all of your support. We pulled out all of the stops to make Mass Effect 3 the best game ever, and we can't wait for you all to experience it.

Mike

Honestly, I refuse to play the third one until I've finished the first one (again) and played the second. Never played the second because my data for the first was lost in a mysterious hard-drive-dropping accident. I will admit that the multiplayer could and should be a standalone feature - I'd pay like $20 for that, easy. Charging into baddies as a near-indestructible Krogan soldier is soooo muuuuch fuuuun.

I am in somewhat the same boat. I never finished either 1 or 2, but am currently making my way through ME1 now. I am trying to get it done as quickly as possible because I really want to dive into ME2.

And to think that when I do eventually get them both done, ME3 will be out there for me to get my hands on. I'm STILL kicking myself for not devoting time to this series when it first came out.

I picked up a Kinect on sale last night, and was frustrated to discover that my X-box only has 1 USB port (mine is being used for wifi)

*grumble* may break down and run CAT6 downstairs to the router.

All XBox360 consoles have 3 USB ports.

Or a USB hub. I've not plugged one into an XBox, but it should work fine.

This is what I was thinking. One in the back, two in the front. I haven't seen any with just 1, but I haven't seen any of the newer models.

They removed Memory slots when they started the Slim Series of SKUs.

Hidden in the front. I don't think I realized they were there originally.
