This is something that makes me love what we can do with technology these days. This is a link to a live webcam that has been setup in an eagle's nest in Iowa. The first of 3 eggs is beginning to hatch. There's about a dime sized crack at this point and over the next 36 hours or so the chick will hatch.

Coworker and I were discussing the legal protections for eagles.

Coworker: I don’t understand why they are so protected.
Arathain: They’re pretty rare nowadays and don’t breed fast.
Coworker: they breed like rats and they are everywhere near the water. Ok, maybe not bald eagles but you can’t go anywhere near the bay without running into a sea eagle.
Arathain: a what?
Coworker: sea eagle.
Arathain: what is a sea eagle?
Coworker: go to the dump sometime. They are everywhere.
Arathain: ….

Hopefully you ***** slapped him for not knowing the difference between an eagle (of any type) and a seagull.

See, that's good news, Arathain. You've used an unintentional vetting process to determine that you should spend exactly zero percent of your time and resources on this individual going forward.

On a side note, I'd be willing to wager a months salary that this same individual can name the entire cast of Jersey Shore and knows the entire bio of atleast 3 contestants on American Idol.
