Unfortunatly the world needs both Teslas (men of ideas) and Edison (men of vision to bring those ideas to light and get them funded and make them usable. We see this idea repeated in our own age with Gates and Jobs.

However, yeah the work of Tesla is poorly misrepresented.

Jobs is actually not a great example. Gates and Woz, certainly.

Exactly. Both were men of vision who, while never having an original technical idea in their lives, made mounds of money and progress bringing fire to the people so to speak.

The original DOS and GUI were developed by other people who lacked the vision necessary to bring those ideas into mainstream where they would be profitable. At least the DOS got paid for his effort.
