Speaking of Depeche Mode, does anyone else associate them with douchy, leftist, francophile snobs wearing all black clothes, skinny jeans, and heavy eye-liner sitting around drinking red wine, smoking Gauloises cigarettes and ***** about the capitalist establishment and the maudit anglais? ETA: I know they're a Brit band, not a French one. It's just that the type of people i knew who liked them were all either Quebecois nationalists or english francophile douchebags. They were all like a mix of today's OWS and hipster crowds, with the Quebecois nationalist twist.

Its just you. DM reminds me of this sexy teacher chick I know.

I can't understand
What makes a man
Hate another man.
Help me understand.

I don't hate the men of Depeche Mode, I hate the musical group and the ultra whiny crap they release.

It was lyrics from "People are People..."

nevermind. ;)

Anyway, I wouldn't call most of their music "whiny." It's electronic pop crap. Personal Jesus was an awesome song. Although Johnny Cash covered it better.

When you peel back my eyes
I see the pain and feel alive
My hatred heaps upon this fire
That burns inside and you blow higher
But I don't need you anymore
You cannot hurt me anymore

Keep it away from the fire
Unless you want it to burn
It burns - wildfire
Set on fire
You caught on fire

And when you take me in your mind
Into this dirty sodden shrine
I do not need you anymore
You cannot hurt me anymore

KMFDM - Ultra

On candy stripe legs the Spiderman comes
Softly through the shadow of the evening sun
Stealing past the windows of the blissfully dead
Looking for the victim shivering in bed
Searching out fear in the gathering gloom and
Suddenly!
A movement in the corner of the room!
And there is nothing I can do
When I realize with fright
That the Spiderman is having me for dinner tonight!

Quietly he laughs and shaking his head
Creeps closer now
Closer to the foot of the bed
And softer than shadow and quicker than flies
His arms are all around me and his tongue in my eyes
"Be still be calm be quiet now my precious boy
Don't struggle like that or I will only love you more
For it's much too late to get away or turn on the light
The Spiderman is having you for dinner tonight"

And I feel like I'm being eaten
By a thousand million shivering furry holes
And I know that in the morning I will wake up
In the shivering cold

And the Spiderman is always hungry

Ha ha ha ha ha
Yo, I'll tell you what I want, what I really, really want
So tell me what you want, what you really, really want
I'll tell you what I want, what I really, really want
So tell me what you want, what you really, really want
I wanna, (ha) I wanna, (ha) I wanna, (ha) I wanna, (ha)
I wanna really, really, really wanna zigazig ah

If you want my future, forget my past
If you wanna get with me, better make it fast
Now don't go wasting my precious time
Get your act together we could be just fine

I'll tell you what I want, what I really, really want
So tell me what you want, what you really, really want
I wanna, (ha) I wanna, (ha) I wanna, (ha) I wanna, (ha)
I wanna really, really, really wanna zigazig ah
If you wanna be my lover, you gotta get with my friends
(Gotta get with my friends)
Make it last forever, friendship never ends
If you wanna be my lover, you have got to give
Taking is too easy, but that's the way it is

Oh, what do you think about that
Now you know how I feel
Say, you can handle my love, are you for real
(Are you for real)
I won't be hasty, I'll give you a try
If you really bug me then I'll say goodbye

Yo I'll tell you what I want, what I really, really want
So tell me what you want, what you really, really want
I wanna, (ha) I wanna, (ha) I wanna, (ha) I wanna, (ha)
I wanna really, really, really wanna zigazig ah

If you wanna be my lover, you gotta get with my friends
(Gotta get with my friends)
Make it last forever, friendship never ends
If you wanna be my lover, you have got to give
(You've got to give)
Taking is too easy, but that's the way it is

So, here's a story from A to Z
You wanna get with me, you gotta listen carefully
We got Em in the place who likes it in your face
You got G like MC who likes it on a...
Easy V doesn't come for free, she's a real lady
And as for me, ha you'll see

Slam your body down and wind it all around
Slam your body down and wind it all around

If you wanna be my lover, you gotta get with my friends
(Gotta get with my friends)
Make it last forever, friendship never ends
If you wanna be my lover, you have got to give
(You've got to give)
Taking is too easy, but that's the way it is

If you wanna be my lover
You gotta, you gotta, you gotta, you gotta, you gotta
Slam, slam, slam, slam (make it last forever)

Slam your body down and wind it all around
Slam your body down and wind it all around
Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha
Slam your body down and wind it all around
Slam your body down and zigazig ah
If you wanna be my lover

I wouldn't kick any of them out of bed for eating crackers. For singing, yes, but not for eating crackers.

Ugh, take a closer look, dude. It's just the Cheerleader Effect ("also known as the Bridesmaid Paradox, Sorority Girl Syndrome, and for a brief window in the mid ’90s, the Spice Girls’ Conspiracy").

I voted other. I think it's inappropriate to judge others without any information and especially not based on my own biased views.

Fixed once again, for me. I prefer Van Hagar, anyway. Not a fan of David Lee Roth.

He founded a religion which generally does a lot of good. I don't think he was a prophet in the sense he was inspired by a higher power, but I think overall he made a good impact.

The word 'charlatan' is what immediately spring to mind, unbidden, when the name Joseph Smith is bandied about.
