just beat fungus on brutal. started in China, got a lucky fungal burst and landed in Iceland. Devolved every symptom got. Used Water+Air and 1 level of bird to infect and 1 level of drug resistance to hit wealthy nations. Threw Cysts, Paralysis, Coma, and eventually Insanity & total organ failure once the world was 100% infected.

Bacteria, fungus, prion, and parasite may as well be exactly the same. Air 2 + Water 2 + 1 level of Drug Resistance. Wait. Devolve all mutations. Buy something lethal at 100% global infection, preferably Total Organ Failure. Heat and Cold Resistance are optional, if you happen to be impatient. Yes, it works for fungus without requiring Spore Burst. You just have to be patient.

Virus changes only because you can't devolve for free.

Nano-virus and Bioweapon have neat wrinkles because you start off with a cure timer running against you, or your lethality automatically ramps up as time goes by. The same strategy still works, although things like heat and cold resistance become more important to speed up infection.

finally beat them on on brutal. I didn't use heat/cold resistance on bioweapon, but quickly evolved Necrosis. (corpses will still infect the living) That seemed to make the difference. In the end it was down to iceland -- I'd spike up and down with my deaths outpacing my infection and vice versa, but eventually the last people got infected. It was touch and go (any any given time I had between 1000 & 20000 infected, but only about 2% of the population infected. )
