yah equipment drops are 100% random now. Hats are so random and rare (at least for me), In 450 hours of playing (last steam has sure its more) I have gotten maybe 5-10 hats and still none of the ones I want.

For crafting, here is a list of every recipe and how to craft em. I beleive F2P can do that, just cant use Vintage stuff and smaller backpack.

F2P? Free to play?

How in the hell does that work? Did they let folks have the game for free because that is the only thing I ever paid for.

Yes.

Meet the Pyro is finally due to drop today. It's tough for me to get excited about the other updates anymore, but this has been a long time coming.

Really? Wow. It's only (looks at watch) 5 years overdue. Not too shabby. I hope it's good. And I hope they don't try to cash in on the fan made-up "He's a she" crap.

Pretty funny. I approve. Not seeing why it took so long to make though. Ah well.

Not bad. Worth the wait, doubtful.

Wish I could go back and have it the way it was when I played before I had kids, but that time is passed. Team Fortress 2 will always be one of my fondest gaming memories.

Anyone here still play much? I haven't been on in months.

I haven't played in probably six months or so, and I haven't played intensively in longer than that. I feel like I sort of lost track of the game with crafting, because I never played in big, long sessions, and I never idled, so crafting came in and I didn't have much inventory except for what I'd earned through class update achievements, which obviously consists of few doubles with which I'd want to part.

So between crafted items and then the Steam Workshop thing, I've just completely lost track of all the fiddly weapon variations and kind of feel like I don't quite know what to expect when facing somebody else anymore.

I can't tell you the last time I played. I know it has been a very long time. The server I found myself on most often shut down.

I play every couple of weeks. A guy I know streams on twitch.tv and does a community play night every Friday. Sometimes it is TF2.

Ok, the (somewhat) new Mann vs Machine Co-Op game is exceedingly fun and terribly addictive.

If you haven't heard about it, it is purely cooperative with up to 6 players on a team. Basically, it turns TF2 into a Tower Defense game except that you are a walking, talking tower. The bots come in randomized waves and bots that die drop cash. Cash that is collected is split evenly amongst all players. Cash can then be spent on upgrades for your class at the supply depot (usually best to do it in between waves, but you can do it mid-battle as well).

All the classes are useful, some moreso than others but every one of them has their place. Scouts have a huge radius to pick up dropped cash (it disappears over time), cash heals themselves, and they respawn instantly when they die. Spy sappers disable entire groups of machines at once. Sniper headshots cause explosions (doesn't have to be a kill shot for an explosion).

You won't get enough cash to upgrade all of your weapons. But you certainly can become very powerful by the final rounds if you spend your cash wisely. My sniper was fully charging up shots in 2 seconds, doing 900 points per headshot, and had a huge headshot explosion radius. Great for taking out large groups of bots (and taking down some of the tougher, giant bots).

Highly recommended.

No problem. If we need to try and plan out a time to play, we can do that as well. Also, a few of my local friends are going to playing MVM every Wednesday at 7pm mountain, and we don't always (rarely do) have a full 6 person group if you or anyone else is interested.
