All possible brains have been devoured. What happens next?

Just looking for thoughts, ideas, future for the world when the zombies have eliminated humanity, or cannot get to the humans that are left. Do they starve? Eat each other? How long do the zobies survive without brains.

Go.

In the year 2000...

Everyone on earth will become flesh-eating zombies. When all the flesh is gone, they will become dirt-eating zombies. And when the dirt is gone, finally, some will reluctantly go to the Olive Garden.

I imagine they'd play a lot of chess in the park.

I'd imagine there would be a lot of aimless shambling.

Don't they eat animals too? Is it just brains or any fresh meat that makes em happy?

They seem to prefer humans and especially their brains. We haven't established how much they go for other meat animals and whether a lack of human brains will have a deleterious effect on these shambling mockeries of life.

Biased? Perhaps, do I really need to be sensitive to the plight of these Zombie-Amercians?

They are actively decomposing, so.... they decompose.

That is my thought on it Arathain, so I was thinking how long must human beings hide from the ZA before all the zombies have decomposed? What will be left when they come out of their hidey hole? Will the virus still be active somewhere or does it have to travel by bite/human liquids?

Is the consumption of brains linked to a survival mechanism, are the brains consumed first to prevent other zombies from rising? Are the lucky ones who escape after being first bitten the ones who actually turn into zombies? The ones consumed don't seem to have much chance of having enough left of them to become zombies.

That depends on the type of zombie you're think about. Is it a virus which makes people extremely violent (and have a chance to mutate), or is it re-animated zombies more your train of thought.

The virus type, in theory would need to have something to nibble on... e.g. 28 days later.

The re-animation types are harder to imagine and would not follow any current pathogen we know... so I'd go with survive until they decompose... which is a long time. Would their bones continue on? or are they still bound by the nervous/muscle systems?

Whoa, whoa, whoa there Lydiaa! We already had this debate. 28 days later != zombie movie. Zombies = animated dead, not rabid crazy people or else by definition Wal-Mart would be zombie headquarters worldwide.

I don't think they were eating people in 28 days later either. They were just super pissed off. But not at each other, for some strange reason that I never understood.
