These are the designs I am thinking about. I was also considering a quote. Haven't decided on the one yet.

Places to put them? I am having a hard time with.

I think my wrist is not going to work, because of HR policy at work.

so, other ideas were.

Back of neck (i sometimes wear my hair in a bun, so not sure bout this one)
side rib, boob level
top of my arm, just below shoulder
back of shoulder
front low hip

So are you thinking of both designs together, or one or the other. Also, how large? That makes a big difference on location.

While the side ribs may be "hot", that is about the most painful place to get tattooed.

I have heard that tats on bone are quite painful, but I figure it's going to be small, so I can take the pain.

I was leaning to the quote being on my ribs...I don't know though.

If it's that small, then you have a lot of options on location. And some of that also depends on which one you start with. For instance, I think the Kanji would look very good on your shoulder, or low on your neck/between your shoulder blades. Both would be easily hidden by a shirt with a collar.

Tattoos do hurt, and how much it hurts depends on where you're getting tattooed. In general, the closer you are to bone or nerve ganglia the more it's going to hurt. When my wife had a tattoo that covered her sciatic never, she turned white as a sheet.

Hmmm low on my neck? I like that! I do think I am gonna get the quote on my ribs, lol now I gotta get someone to go with me so I can crush their hand when it gets to painful and I want to stop.

Oh yea, the other thing I'm concerned about if I get it on my low neck. Do you think it will look ok with say formal wear? I wear a lot of strapless dresses. Also, color? Would something other than black work?

i am still trying to find a way to justify and get away with a wrist tattoo.... the symbol on inner wrist would be kinda easy to bypass..like this one.

No Tat feels good to get, unless you are into pain. The ribs though... the people I know who have ribs tattooed have said that it was the most painful area to get done, even more than the top of the foot or the collarbone.
