Is that... Is that a can? Don't do that anymore.

Besides the fact that cans are better for preserving the beer (as shel said), there are also still plenty of places they don't allow bottles. Thank goodness we can still get some good beer in cans!

I have not noticed that cans noticeably preserve the flavor of beer. While it may very well get a better seal and keep light out, metal is more reactive than glass and so is more likely to add it's own metallic tastes.

Unfortunately, they were out of Torpedo at the grocery today :( no picture yet.

Actually, "today's aluminum cans feature a water-based polymer lining that eliminates any metallic contamination", so even that's not a problem.

Unfortunately, your tongue still touches metal. Still better than the typical cheap-ass metal can that MGD comes in. (My father-in-law's favorite beer. Sometimes you just have to drink cheap beer to keep older men happy.)

Yup, that's my Dad's favorite as well, for as long as I can remember. I still crave one occasionally.

I drank MGD yesterday with a bunch of WW2 and Korean War vets at a clam boil and chowder feast I hosted for the American Legion. Not much flavor, but very refreshing.

If you are really all that concerned about your beer tasting the best it possibly can, pour it into a proper glass and drink it at the right temperature. Super cold is the temperature used to hide a bad beer's flaws.
