I usually refer to them as the couple next door, but the trio sounds dumb. Likewise the "Lesbian Trio" sounds like a shitty band name.

Most of the folks I know just refer to themselves as a family.

I refer to them as a family when I include their two kids.

At no point in the history of the Glade have I been happier to be another Glader's sounding board for things too tasteless to post than at 10:45 this morning, central time.

I'm sure you don't mean it this way, but this sentiment has always been a pet peeve of mine. My wife and I don't have kids, nor will we ever. We are JUST as much of a family as a couple who's decided to reproduce.

Take your weird alterna-lifestyle somewhere else! You are and always will be a couple not a family!

Kidding. If you were my neighbors though I'd refer to you guys as the couple next door or my neighbor and his wife (or vice versa).

We had a family like that living in the neighborhood about ten years ago. My line was "they keep their yard neat, the kids are respectful of the neighbors, and I really don't know or care what goes on behind their closed doors any more than I know or care what goes on behind yours.". The busybodies in the neighborhood were annoyed I wasn't outraged. Their problem not mine. At the time I had greater concerns than who slept with who, still do, though quite different concerns.

Brazilian judge recognizes the right for three people to marry each other. Cool.

BBC wrote:
Public Notary Claudia do Nascimento Domingues has said the man and two women should be entitled to family rights.

She says there is nothing in law to prevent such an arrangement . . .

The three individuals, who have declined to speak to the press, have lived in Rio de Janeiro together for three years and share bills and other expenses.

Ms Domingues says they have already opened a joint bank account, which is also not prohibited by any law . . . Ms Domingues, who is based in the Sao Paulo city of Tupa, said the move reflected the fact that the idea of a "family" had changed.

I couldn't marry Pinkie. She's got *way* too much energy.

Fluttershy or Twilight though? That'd be where its at. ;)

I'm find with just totally abolishing the construct of marriage outside of whatever your church deems appropriate.

I just don't see how or why the government should try to manage this...
