So out of these phones, which one is the most physically durable?

If you are buying a device you expect to last more than a year or two, make damn sure it has a replaceable battery.

Otterboxes make anything pretty damned durable. Ugly as ****, but durable.

Durability is not a key design objective for these new devices. They are designed (and expected) to last two to three years (or so). The technology refresh is so fast on them that the designers don't expect them to be used for longer than that.

This applies to just about all of the smart devices/tablets out there...

You can buy protective covers, screen protectors, etc... that should help them survive some abuse...

Yeah, definitely. Only problem is the lack of GPS and the difficulty of texting. Often, texting is better than talking due to noise discipline issues.

Im trying to find verification on this, but I heard on the radio there is a special chip in the new lightning cable/adapter that means you won't be able to buy aftermarket ones.

I could be done if this is true.
