I know it's been a shitty year, but I really like the direction your roster build is going in. Wheedon needs a year of development under his belt, and you need a few interior linemen on offense, but the foundation is there and most importantly it's young. The other thing you need is a new defensive co-ordinator. Dick Jaraun's bent but don't break defense is maddening at the end of a game when you need a big stop, but the defense isn't designed to do that.

I am ambivalent. Change is coming 10/17 once Jimmy Haslam takes over the franchise. For my money see below.

Spoiler:
Dick Jauron's defense only gave up 16 points to the 2nd best offense in football. It would have been less but our shut-down corner (Joe Haden) was suspended four games for taking a non-PED banned substance.

Our line is a huge problem, Joe Thomas (LT) appears to simply quit on 25-40% of the plays and Pinkston (RG) and Luavao (LG) are the dregs of the league. Schwartz (the rookie RT) is developing very nicely and Mack (our center) is very solid.

Play calling still seems to be our biggest problem to me though. Our line can't pass-block but we call 52 pass plays... in the rain... against a division opponent in their home stadium... when you have Trent Richardson averaging 3.5 ypc... when our WR corp is leading the league in dropped balls by a healthy margin... when you have a rookie QB who is out of sync... and the pass plays you call are 2-3 yards shy of the sticks... Shurmur's got to go.

One thing for the Browns though is that Trent looks to be the real deal. That guy is a beast.

Looks like the Pats dropped an A-bomb in the division.

I think we should trade the number 1 overall pick for a 2013 #1 & #2 as well as 2014 #2 & #3; & 2015 #2.

Also, see below v

You'll trade the #1 overall 2013 pick for the #8, 2 4th rounders, Terrell Owens, a hot dog and a handjo.

That honor goes to the "Browns Fan of the Year" in exchange for season tickets to the Bengals (an actual team you'd pay to watch). ;)

Pat Shurmur needs a good old fashioned curb-stomping.

We quit!

Quote:
Even with the Pittsburgh Steelers down to 37-year-old Charlie Batch and newly signed Brian Hoyer at the quarterback position, few are giving the 2-8 Cleveland Browns much of a chance to upset the 6-4 Steelers this Sunday at Cleveland Browns Stadium. The list of doubters apparently extends to the Browns marketing department, who will be handing out white -- yes, white -- flags to fans entering the stadium this Sunday as part of a promotion with The NFL Ticket Exchange.

"Arrive early Sunday. All fans in attendance will receive a Browns Inflatable Flag courtesy of @NFLtixExchange," the Browns official Twitter handle announced on Thursday.

Your team name is "Browns." Your team's helmets are orange. Each of those colors would have made for a far more suitable choice for a flag than white, which is the universal sign for signaling truce or surrender. Then again, the Steelers have won 21 of the last 23 matchups between the two franchises, including 10 of the last 11 meetings

Based on the final score, this reverse psychology was evidently successful.
