Find your local Apple Users group http://www.apple.com/usergroups/, and go there. Take Xanax before you go.

Here at the Glade we tend to be a bit PCentric

Should still be a 2.5 SATA drive, so Any SATA enclosure should do.

https://www.google.com/shopping/product ... CHwQ8wIwAA should do the trick
For that matter you should be able to pop it in any desktop that has a power lead small enough to fit it. If it doesn't you'll have to get an adapter to power the drive.

Assuming the drive is good, do what Ror said and just pull the drive and connect it to any other PC with an external enclosure.

Quick vid on how to pull the drive out of a macbook:

I bought one of these for a throwaway drive and have ended up using it as my music practice recording drive with no problems for years (can't beat 5 bucks).

Is it old enough to have firewire? If so you should be able to boot the mac in 'target disk mode' (this doesnt require the OS to boot, though the mac does need to power up), which basically turns the entire laptop into the worlds most expensive hard drive.

I think you do it by holding down T when you boot it up.
