Going for SIX, Go Niners!

I checked out the Baltimore Sports Reporters Analysis and I was impressed. They are cautiously aware that the Niners have a better overall team, but think if the Ravens perform near flawlessly they have a good chance. This was a breath of fresh air to the endless hype I've been seeing from my side. I still think the Niners will take it, but I think the Ravens are not going to go the way of Denver.

I think it will be a good game. I'm leaning toward rooting for the Niners, mostly cause I can't stand Ray Lewis. I wouldn't mind seeing Flacco and Rice do well. If they have big games, the Ravens win.

My dislike of Ray Lewis is outweighed by my combined dislike of Jim Harbaugh and SF teams (a spillover from baseball, and a holdover from the 49ers past dominance). I do like Flacco, actually, have liked him for a while.

That being said, I suspect the 49ers are going to win.

A few bad calls and we were only 5 yards from the win, but I can't complain. Ravens came and played ball well.

Ok, not to be a stick in the mud...

Had the Niners not **** the bed in the first half, it might have been a different story.

The Ravens showed up for the game before half-time. Their first half game was pretty darn good. Their momentum up until the blackout was going great. Unfortunately, they had enough steam left to win the game after the 49ers finally showed up.

The refs were blind, the Ravens were playing a little dirty, and we'll be back again soon, hopefully next year.

The Ravebs ability to effect any offense was comprised in large part by taking advantage of flubs committed by the 9ers offense and shoe-string miracle third down conversions between Flacco and the receivers. There is no question in my mind that the 9ers could destroy the Ravens in a straight up firepower contest moving the ball down the field.

It's scary to think how much the potential the 9ers will have next season with a bit of refinement and experience. They almost won (probably should have IMO) on raw athleticism and talent despite their horrendous mistakes in the first half.

Oh well, I'll only have to suffer through a little bit of gloating this week. Moving from Baltimore back to Missouri next week! And the Chiefs have Leon Sandcastle!

As a fan of an opposing NFC West team, and an avid hater of all things "Douchebag Harbaugh", I couldn't bring myself to root for the 9ers.

Unfortunately, I have almost as much disdain for the whole Ray Lewis Retirement Bowl campaign that ESPN and many of the media types were shoving down our throats.

I had very little interest in who won the game.

I am looking forward to the Seahawks and Niners games, and the NFC West showdown that is looming next season.

I'd like to say, "Bring on Baseball Season!", but it's pretty hard to be excited about a Mariners team that is in the same division as the Angels and Rangers. At least we have the Astro's in our division now.

I remember saying back when I heard Ray Ray was retiring.

I told Dark, "Man, this is gonna be just like 2005's 'Get The Bus A Ring Bowl'"

And lo and behold...

Actually, it wasn't that bad. The officiating wasn't anywhere near as bad as it was in the BusBowl.

That, and the Ravens are my AFC team
