Heh, I don't know how it happened, but a Milwaukee pitcher dislocated his (non-throwing hand) pinky last week. Pretty grisly picture of it, somewhere, if you're into that sort of thing.

Sounds like a super freak accident thing.

Ideally the throwing hand is hidden to keep from being hit by a foul tip....

But sometimes, for whatever reason (throwing, off balance, etc) it can be exposed.....and when a ball is foul tipped, it can end up hitting all kinds of things.....

Hand injuries are one of the most common. Broken fingers, wrists, etc.. trying to bunt, or fouling off and inside pitch and it hitting your fingers. Applying a tag and getting a finger, wrist or hand bent backwards...

Yeah, like Hanley Ramirez' injury in the WBC - took an awkward dive to field a ball, jammed his thumb, tore a tendon. Surgery, and out of the lineup since mid-March. Dodgers might get him back this week or next.

It's April; what kind of Braves fan lauds our team in April? Do you not understand the heresy you're committing?

Yea, the season is too long as it is. This is way to early to start pushing any team.

That being said...welcome to Detroit *****!

We've now lost 7 of our last 10 -- thanks, Nitefox ... for cheering for the Braves in April. It's no post-season season, now ...

Nice reverse jinx.

Gonna be a good one, if it is.
Braves face Fister, Stasburg, Gio, Zimmerman, and Haren in the next 5 games. That's not easy.

May seems to be much nicer for the Braves, so they should get some wins.

Braves need to learn to win games when they don't hit homers. They are going to K a lot this season.

I feel a bit bad now, for Taly. I actually though the Jays would do well this season. And they still might. But I have a feeling if they don't turn it around this month, they are toast. They really had a very bad month, and their injuries didn't help.

My Yanks are treading water, and have done pretty good so far, but I think they are getting a lot of luck and could nosedive at any moment. The injuries are just too severe at this point. If they can reach AS break at .500, I will be impressed. They are above that now, but I feel the wheels are coming off at any time now.

ARod (60 day), Jeter (60 day), Teixeira (15 day), Granderson (15 day), Cervelli (60 day), Nova (15 day), Joba (15 day), Youkilis (15 day), Nunez (day-to-day), Robertson just got back from day-to-day. And that doesn't count the guys who've been on the DL like Pineda, Cabral.

Amazing that even the back-ups have been injured. Starting to think the S&C guy might get axed after this crap.

The line-ups they are running out atm, are horrible.

The Dodgers tonight, by the end of the game, had an infield of Luis Cruz (3B), Dee Gordon (SS), Nick Punto (2B, I actually kind of like him), and Juan Uribe (1B). And that's not even the worst one they've had lately.

I never did buy into the hype, really, but it's still just painful to watch.

The Dodgers, Angels, and Jays to some extent all made mistakes that other teams made in the past. They ignored history IMHO. Especially the Dodgers and Angels.

The Dodgers had a good core team, and the new ownership went crazy with money and tried to buy a super team by taking on bad contract, big named players from Boston. They will probably be okay, but they really did hurt their future if you ask me.

The Angels bought some big named sluggers, whose numbers were declining. They overpaid for the previous success. They in turn, ignored their pitching, which has been killing them. Arte took that club and turned it on it's head if you ask me. The old Angels were extremely tough to face, even though they didn't win a lot of championships along the way. Now, Scoscia can't really play his style of game, which was always speed, defense, and pitching.

The Blue Jays took on some question marks hoping for upside, which wasn't really a bad deal considering their place over the last decade+. Unfortunately, they haven't gotten that upside and are struggling.

Did MLB hire the replacement refs from the NFL?

Also, surprise Archer bonus in there. :)
