I'm not sure what this has to do with robots. They don't blindly follow GPS. Google's driverless cars gather nearly 1GB of data every second and are more aware of their surroundings than any person could ever hope to be.

Bah!

Its more amusing if you imagine a GPS robot blindly following poorly laid out routes. ;)

I would imagine that GPS technology will improve while humanity will remain the same or get worse.

90% of that data is irrelevant. There's a reason military UAVs are not controlled by google-like "1GB per second" software. It sucks.

They have driven these cars like 400,000 miles accident-free, how does that suck?

Driverless cars are the future and they're coming soon. They will definitely bring down fatalities due to car crashes.

It's amazing how well test-bed things work, as opposed to production models, when all the money goes into a few prototypes. I have some hilarious stories, but I'm not sure if I can share them here, sadly. :(

I had thought at last count, every accident the driverless cars have experienced was due to human error. Personally, even if they have a minimal accident rate, it will still be loads better than most drivers, and I can't wait to watch a film while being driven to work.

Well, for starters, realize that somebody is inappropriately conflating relevant data in the air to relevant data on the ground.
