I didn't get to watch the game today, but it sounds like Felix might have still been having back issues. He left his last start early after tweaking his back throwing a runner out at second.

Actually, he got hurt when he stood in the base path like a dummy and got run over by Lyle Overbay. After that, he was gimped up.

NL West is being very competitive so far. I'm liking this.

Heh, I'm not! Although, honestly, it was to be expected. I like it better when you can win with scrubs, anyway. It's a bit more satisfying.

The only bright spot right now is that the Dodgers have an extra two games in which to win 65 more (figuring that 92 wins might be enough to take the division or at least get into the playoffs) (they've only played 42 games, while the rest of the division has played 43 or 44 (critically, SF and AZ)).

Edit: OK, that was a major brain fart on my part. The Dodgers need 75 wins to hit that magic number. So, unless you think they're a .625 ball club the rest of the way (and no one else can manage .550), the season really is pretty much over for them. Time to bring up some youngsters.

Gattis does it again.

And again, he belted a slam in the 4th during today's game.

Hummm, while I am happy with a couple wins, starting to wonder if we are seeing the decline of Verlander.

I haven't followed Verlander this year but over the past two years Ubaldo has just had his number. Since Ubaldo sucks so bad I have yet to figure out how to wrap my head around it.

Those are great, Hop - the top three are all the same guy, right? Number 31 on the (Cinci, I assume) Bearcats. Can't quite tell on the bottom two. I sure hope he gets drafted by the D-Backs, just for the fireworks.

OK, yeah - J.P. Jackson, Inf/C. Must be him on the bottom, at least in the catcher's gear.

Wow, that's a great image. All six of those are pretty much out of the strike zone. Sure, maybe a corner here and there, but I don't put too much stock in those boxes anyway. :)

You had one job: sweep the injuns. After all we know there is only enough false hope in the state for one of us.

As always, I'm glad to see the month of Swune end. Perhaps July will see improvement.

It's been an interesting year. Pirates with the best record in baseball? Pirates?! My Sox are in first place which is almost as surprising. With only one knuckle head (Lackey, and he's pitching well) on the team they're fun to watch. Always good to see the Yankers in 4th place.

The way they are playing and with how poor the Tigers are going...your boys may win the Central.
