DC continues to shoot itself in the foot, it's just got a around to getting to the good foot this time.

Well, then. I guess I'll be passing on Batman/Superman in 2015. Words cannot describe the fail in this choice.

I really think Affleck is talented...as a creator (i.e. a writer and director). As an actor...I firmly expect him to be less Batman and more Bat-bland. It isn't that he's bad, per se (there are certainly worse actors out there), but he's wholly unmemorable.

I really, truly think the best actor out there right now for Batman would be Idris Elba. What baddassery would ensue.

Affleck will mildly surprise the masses, but won't blow anybody away.

Thanks to Chris Nolan, everyone sees Christian Bale through highly rose-colored glasses.

I'll say it again: Christian Bale completely sucked as Batman. He wasn't terrible as Bruce Wayne, but as Batman, he's as bad as anyone who came before him, frequently worse.

Affleck won't be nearly as bad as Bale was.

In the Ben Affleck version, Batman's parents kill themselves.

Having grown up watching Adam West play Batman on TV (and not having read many comics), I don't get too excited about the 'who'.

No. Idris Elba plays John Stewart in the JLA movie.

Nobody can seem to climb off of Hal Jordan's dick long enough for any other Green Lantern to have a go at anything but the animated series.

It's really more a matter of "If you're doing an origin story to introduce somebody to Green Lanterns, you do Hal because Hal is the first human to encounter a GL, and is thus the best audience proxy for said introduction." Hollywood is determined to do origin stories for everything it even thinks about presenting to the public, whether the license in question really ought to have an origin story presented as a feature film at all (I'm looking at you, FF), so yes, we got Hal.

I'm hoping Ryan Reynolds disabused Hollywood of that notion.

He will be a better Bruce Wayne than a Batman. Overall I think he will do just fine.

He's in for multi-picture, and he will be one of the writers.
