Lost three friends (they passed away, not disagreements) from three different aspects of my life.

Found out a family member (not my daughter) is seriously abusing drugs, again, to counter depression. Recovery was just too miserable and sad. Relapse is part of the recovery process, but one still hopes.

Diabetes is acting up because of the long hot summer. I need cooler weather. Yes, some of us diabetics cannot take regular doses of 100+ heat.

I need something really wonderful to hit me out of the blue for once. I'm really tired of all the bad stuff.

The only thing I can give is something intangible, but it's also something not everyone has.

The knowledge of knowing that you matter, and have made a difference to multiple people in your life. And that you have also given people like myself many smiles and good memories. People like me who are glad knowing that a good man like you is out there in this world that is otherwise full of very bad people.

To some, that may not be much. But to others, it's the best they can hope for out of life.

I'm sorry. :( I wish I had something better to say...I'm more of a doer though...I wish you lived closer so we could have you over for dinner or something. (Isn't it getting close to visiting time again?? :) )
Praying for that something wonderful to hit you out of the blue...I wish you some happiness.

My condolences, Micheal, on your losses. It is never easy to lose someone you care about, it is especially hard to lose so many in a short time. I've been there and understand what you are going through.

I sincerely hope your family member can stop using again, and start living a better life this time. I know about relapses...my husband is an alcoholic. He nearly killed himself when he fell on the firewood rack on the hearth, piercing his throat very close to his carotid. He stopped drinking for well over a week, but started again behind my back. I found out when I found him sitting on the patio just after 10AM a few weeks ago, his clothes wet and muddied and his face bloodied. He did a face-plant in the yard while filling the dog's water dish. He is now on his second attempt to quit. It will be a long hard struggle for him and for your family member, but in the end, when (if) they succeed, it will be wonderful for all concerned.

Wishing you all the best! /hugs

Hugs.

I'm thinking of you.
