If the 350r is anything to judge by, probably $15-30 more than the standard Hornet (I don't remember whether the lightning package was $90 or $100)

So, apparently my memory is awful. The add-on was $100, so my estimation is $20 off.

What are the 315 and 325 going for? At work, and can't really access right now.

Diamondeye:

The 315 and 325 alone (non pledge pack) are $60 and $65 respectively. As a pledge pack, they are $75 and $80.

Welp, looks like the Hornet's been delayed 'till Tuesday. Heh. I don't mind, but you'd think once bitten, twice shy or something.

$60\$65 is hefty. I'll have to look at them when I get home and give it some thought.

And they snuck an update for the Aurora brochure out. Now it includes (and features) the LN.

I am now the proud owner of the 325A. It was listed as the more militarized version so.. I had to have it. :D ;)

I do plan on supplementing it with the 315, but it must be far enough in the future to avoid wife aggro.

It's standard.

Ya know, there are almost more posts in this thread than the entire Skyrim sub forum. *wink wink* *nudge nudge*

Yeah, I was joking, since they keep adding stuff on for moneys. Also, because it's called Hyperpillow. I want that now. Where is the future now?

New Hornet variants revealed! But I can't look at the specs on my work computard. Top this with me fasting for a blood test 5 hours from now, and this makes me one cranky boy.

Those are some nice improvements to the commercial. The sound was way awesome (shut up physicists). The addition of the 300 should quiet the malcontents from before who complained about the passivity of the featured fighter in the original version shown two weeks ago.

I admit, I groaned a bit at the HUD element's evaluation of the asteroid field.

Now I get to groan at the delightfulness of all the variants while I try to decide between them for my upgrade.

Also, that's pretty cool -- they're rendering real-time at 4k. I don't think I'm going to be upgrading from my 2560x1600 soon (or, rather, I'm going to be holding out for a 4k with nVidia's new tech when it lines up with my budget) and it'll be a while for the Rift to make those resolutions anyways, but I love that they're that forward thinking and willing to push the boundaries.

That they're basically thumbing their noses at "next gen" consoles in the process? I don't mind that, either.

Thanks, DR! Turns out, I was able to view the brochure. It looks like I'll be spending another $55. Both the Ghost and Tracker versions don't particularly interest me (the Tracker will be redundant with my expected Freelancer loadout, and I want MAXIMUM firepower...and the Ghost is the opposite of that). Now to save (again) for the Explorer-Lancer variant...

Yeah, I think that if it's in your budget, the Super Hornet is probably the logical upgrade for most peoples' intended uses.

I mean, I don't think most people pledged for the base Hornet thinking they were going to haul cargo or be stealthy. And the SWACS kind of came out of left field for most people (even as somebody predicting a recon variant, I'm kind of shocked at how robust they make it sound, and that it's not the 2-seater).

But getting to insure the turret and have it returned to them stock upon destruction? That's going to hold some value for people.

The tracker is an SWACS. It has a radar array in the ball turret hardpoint. The Super Hornet has the ball turret standard, a different weapon loadout, and is also a two-seater.

And what can I do with the SWACS? Would it be useful for the Void Ranger Collective? ;)

The added 300 was totally worth the wait.

Now, Super Hornet or ghost? Or more????

No clue! The CommLink pitches it as a small squad support and coordination feature. A single-seater alternative to a dedicated CIC module in a Constellation or Idris. Aside from sacrificing the 4-ton StorAll cargo box that the standard F7C comes with, it's equipped identically beyond the enhanced radar stuff, and it still has the class 4 canard available for up-gunning it.

Given we've got a wide range of interests covered as a group, I'd say that if rocking some enhanced sensors in a combat vehicle sounds like a good hybrid support role to you, the Void Rangers can make use of it. I certainly have no illusions of the Idris-P or even a CIC-equipped Constellation being my main ride, purely for manpower reasons.

If flight maneuvers such as the reverse/stall technique he used to gain the upper hand on that 300i are going to be the norm, then I am so dead in dogfights.

Just so you know, Kaffis ...

If I start spending money on this game, we're gonna need a bigger boat.
