I don't see happiness as a goal in and of itsself, more of a by product or maybe even a choice (barring some neurological breakdown) I can make a certain decision, thinking it will make me happier, but there is no guarantee in that. A better way of looking at it might be to say the people look to make choices that fullfill their needs (see Maslow) Not everyone is equally content even if they are getting their basic, or even advanced needs met

Maslow's chart is just the order inwhich things either give us happiness or take it away. I don't care how fulfilled I feel in my career if I am starving to death I'm not **** happy.

You make decisions based on what you believe at that time to provide you with the happiness (however you obtain it).

Can we get back to the topic, please?

I would much rather celebrate Robin Williams' life and mourn his death, than read page after page of useless debates over philosophical differences.

Can we just say that he was great man, an amazing entertainer, and his comedy/acting/genius will be sorely missed. The world seems just a little less bright without him.
