Looks kind of like Halo gameplay with Mass Effect art design.

This is looking really good. I'm considering picking it up, and I don't even own an Xbox One or PS4.

Especially since I saw this:
Spoiler:

Mmmmmm. Gorgeous. White. Console...

Anyone else going to be picking up Destiny?

Does anyone have a compelling reason to convince me NOT to spend $450 on a new console bundle?

Weren't the original 360's generally derided for being white?

Don't mind me, just being amused.

I played in the open beta on XBox One. I enjoyed the atmosphere they created, but it was a fairly bland shooter, mechanically. I'll play it, but I'm not expecting the second coming.

Heh, I liked (and still have) the original white 360. I also have the Star Wars slim edition (white & blue), and the original white Wii. Don't judge me. :P

I've turned the corner on white tech. I used to think it looked cheap, but this generation I've been gravitating toward it more and more.

No.

I still won't buy a Sony product. Besides, the exclusives I care about are on Xbox.

Does the Xbox have any "exclusives" that aren't also going to be on PC?

Dunno. I prefer console games on console. Usually the PC ports are terrible.

Ah, me too. PS4 for console games and PC + controller for "Xbox" games.

I played the Beta on my 360. It was very fun. I really like the speeder bikes. Kinda pissed me off though. I was getting into the story when I ran out of **** to do.

Also, very pretty.

The PVP was pretty normal as far as shooters go. I suck, I got owned. But the other stuff was fun.

Hopeful that the PC port of this doesn't suck balls. Really enjoyed the beta on PS3.

It's still unconfirmed. Here's the Bungie quotes about PC from their COO:

Quote:
"...as you might imagine, we're all hardcore PC players. We play everything," he added. "It doesn't matter if it's a phone, PC or console, we play it. And there are 500 people up there. So we care a lot about the PC."

"But this is a huge and ambitious project for us, and just getting it on one console would be a momentous challenge. Getting it on four on the same day is something we've never even tried before. We wanted to get it right, and we didn't want to add in tons more risk."

With a PC version of Destiny seemingly ruled out for launch, what about a release sometime later down the road? "I look forward to our future conversations around PC," Parsons teased. "We love the PC. We hear it too. We ask the question of ourselves."

I expect that PC is definitely in the plans, and if Destiny is a success, it will happen. It looks like they're building this thing to have legs for a while.

Bunnies PC ports have never been more than tolerable, and are routinely less than so.

LOL this amuses me. Auto-correct strikes again!

BTW, I pulled the trigger and purchased the White Destiny PS4 bundle last night. Ordered through Amazon, and it is supposed to be delivered on Tuesday. We will see.

Fair enough. When it comes to PC, I'll come back to the thread ;) Later!

Yes. I figured it was too amusing to take away from the world.

Ran a Hunter and a Titan through the intro mission, and then took the Titan to level 3 before the late coverage shift at work this morning.

Still byterot on X-Box Live.

My PS4 is 'out for delivery' today. I created a PSN account, but can't create a "gamertag" until I have a console to attach it to, heh.

Watched a lot of Destiny video's last night. It's looking really, really good. I'm super excited for this game, and I'm bummed that I'm stuck at work for another 4 and a half hours.

I still can't decide which class to start with, and I'll probably create one of each, heh.

Woo. Got level 4 on the level 4 story mission with my Titan, a a missions behind with my Hunter playing co-op with a friend's Titan. The co-op experience is fun; I think I'd rate it a bit higher than Borderlands because the weapons feel tighter, though the tone of the game is completely different, of course.

A little disappointed that they've taken the semi-mmo format as an excuse to make you grind levels with repeatable patrol missions to full the level gaps between story quests, though. So far it hasn't been egregious, but the perceptibly lengthening experience bars each level and the level ratings I've seen on the next three missions or so made me raise an eyebrow.

Still loving the atmosphere. The end of the third mission had me thinking, "man, Doom 3 wished it had gotten the flashlight horror shooter tension this good" right as the respawn restricted area kicked in...
