I thought to myself. Well that's fairly on par with everything else in the fps world, and then they turned the gravity off.... Oh freakin aye.

I'm not all that pumped for FPS combat in Star Citizen. I'm not quite to "necessary evil" territory, but it's not a selling point. So mostly I was just hoping it doesn't look awful or like they're in the process of screwing the pooch and bringing the quality of the game *down* when I have to participate.

They surprised me a bit with the graphical fidelity, though. There are a lot of nice technical effects, and the animations are really looking pretty good for this early in the game. I really like the way the first person camera is interacting with things like the helmet and self-animations; it's definitely good that they've recognized how important that's going to be for a game that's aiming to showcase the Rift.

I hope they've got some animation work to do on the zero-G characters, but I liked how environmental objects floated around and whatnot. Very cinematic.

I really do hope that somebody gets them to take a look at Shattered Horizon, though. That game did a LOT of things very right when it came to designing interesting and functional zero-G environments. If they want to get magnetic boots and such working well and being cool, they need to learn to approach level design from multiple angles (literally).

They have animation work to do on the characters period. I'm interested in all aspects of the game, as I don't know where I'm gonna fit in yet

Yup, looks a lot more fleshed out than I expected. Thought it would be more of a boarding mini game style thing, but this is looking intense. Hopefully it all comes together.
