Which is great, because that means that nobody has to try to improve on Amazing Spider-Man's skateboard scene and utterly fail.

Oh, ****, son. The Punisher (played by Jon Bernthal) is coming to Hell's Kitchen in the next season of Daredevil.

I mean...it makes sense. I just don't want the Punisher. In anything. Ever.

If they do it right, he should be eating the scenery, and it's going to be awesome.

The Punisher has got to be used with some thought and consideration. Sticking him in Murdock's back yard as a foil for him and to make him question his own methods qualifies. The Punisher becomes problematic when you have to make him sympathetic or appealing to an audience broader than 13-year-old boys. This is a role (supporting character bringing up moral dilemmas for the protagonist who we *do* give a **** about) in which we don't have to be sympathetic, and in which our revulsion to his extremes and moral hypocrisy turns into an asset to drive the story and characterization of Daredevil.

Just as long as the punisher isn't rubbing his head all the time and beginning every conversation with either "Lemme ask you summin" or "Lemme tell you summin."

Forget Asa Butterfield. The new spidey is...

who?

That's okay. The last nobody from England they got to play Spiderman did a good job, right?

Andrew Garfield wasn't a nobody... he was a lead in the Best Picture-winning film of 2010 when he was announced as the next Spider-Man.

But in any case, Marvel Studios was heavily involved in this selection, and their casting has been pretty consistently good thus far.

Word is Daredevil season 2's Big Bad will be the Punisher. Still don't like him, but I can see using him as a villain, so long as they're not pretending he's a hero, as Marvel tends to do.

Wait what? Punisher is a hero. He's totally not a villain. Him and that pussy DD should work together to rid Hell's Kitchen of the evildoers.

What? No, no nononononono. Punisher has a set of values. He has a moral code. He's a hero, even if he has to sand some faces. He does the jobs other "heroes" won't do.

So, Mr. "I'm the best at what I do and what I do isn't nice" gets a free pass and Frank "No super powers at all and actually risks his life" Castle doesn't?

Well, I wouldn't go that far. Wolverine is a **** murder machine, he and the Punisher have a lot in common in that way.

There's a subtle difference -- Logan doesn't tend to wander around sticking his nose in business that isn't his. When The Wolverine kills, chances are, he doesn't really want to be there.

Frank Castle goes around planning murders of people he decides deserves it.

Basically, Logan's a wild animal that mostly wants to be left alone. Castle's a sociopathic killer.

He's like a messy version of Dexter?

Ditto. Looks like they really nailed the tone. I'll be in the theater, definitely want my dollars to support more R rated comic book films.

I'm really scratching my head trying to figure out why you don't immediately (within a few hours) follow-up a Comic Con trailer reveal with an official streamable version *somewhere*.

Yeah, from Ryan Reynolds twitter, looks like they're polishing it more.
