I think this is all coming down to a preference of keyboard vs mouse.
Exactly.
I used to be a die-hard mouse user. Until I discovered the wonders of keyboard shortcuts. It has made my life SSOO much easier. Especially with my job in IT. There are so many things that are easier to launch by hitting "Windows + keystroke" It has increased my productivity so much. Like just hitting "Windows + R" then type "calc" and hit enter to launch the calculator. Or dozens of other quick things like that.
That's where the Mac really shines. I can literally type "Files I worked on last Tuesday" and it will pull up the related files for me. Between this, and the 'swipe' gestures for switching between apps/desktops, I may never want to use a PC again.
I find that I fat-finger things way to often for this to be terribly effective. I never learned much of the keyboarding shortcuts in StarCraft for this reason - which meant I was a bit limited in how well I could do. I can't stand swipe-type interfaces, and I've come to the conclusion that I simply need a bigger phone because everything on the screen is too small for me. I have to disable things like autocorrect and swipe-like features or I am ready to hit the piece of electronics with a sledgehammer in less than 5 minutes.
I literally almost did that with my first smartphone, it was so frustrating.

As a die hard Linux user, I find this thread amusing in a wide variety of ways. CLI for the win.
I have given some thought to this, since I have mostly heard good things from Linux users but I don't know that I really want to deal with the potential compatibility issues, or learn a new operating system from the ground up - or *shudder* have to teach it to my wife.
