Which made me even more confused that they didn't go for the payoff. You're not going to get the same payoff in Defenders, because that minute of found footage won't be fresh in your mind. It's a like telling a joke and then saying "ah, nevermind" when you get to the punchline.

If I'm reading the flow of the plot correctly, most of the Tony stuff ought to be in the first, say, twenty minutes. That's fair game.

Are they blowing some of their "Hey, MCU fans, over here!" capital by putting it all in the trailer? Maybe. We'll see.

Just started watching Iron Fist due to the reception here and from a few friends.

I found the first few episodes wholly frustrating. For a guy that just wanted to talk, he spent a lot of time not talking other than saying "but I am Danny Rand!" We saw the exact same flashback too many times without much information being added since the prior flashback. I felt myself siding with Ward pretty early because Danny just wouldn't get to the damned point. I mean, I expect him to have issues considering what he's been through and the new culture he's adapting to. But this "slow burn" in the first few episodes (I think I start 4 tonight) mostly seems like artificial filler. Dude just seemed to find his mojo though, so I think I can stick through a few more.

For books I usually have a 100-150 page limit where if it hasn't engaged me, I move on. I'm still not quite sure what my threshold is for TV shows yet, but this seriously made me consider codifying a rule.

It's odd to me that Daredevil's in a mask and tie.

Like, he's the only one of the four who conceals his identity with a costume; you'd think he'd take pains to avoid being seen with them in civvies.

OK, this may actually be the first Thor movie I'm actively excited to see. Never realized the missing flavor was "'80s fantasy airbrushed onto a van". Kick ***, Taika Waititi.

I want to see that so freakin bad.

Ever since I read Taika say something similar to this in an interview, I've been ready for it to be glorious. There's finally a reason to see a Thor movie! This looks amazing.

I believe the WB got the rights to the song a couple years ago for the girl with the dragon tattoo remake. They may have been sitting on it.
